  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

For some they are a coping mechanism. Like any habit they become ingrained, more so if suicide gave you a warped comfort of, I will be dead tomorrow so nothing matters. I think the only way to beat it is to find comfort in something else and no longer need suicide as a means to cope with the uncertainty of life. I managed to gain my own solace through my personal philosophy. However it is unique to each individual what may work. ironically not being able to live upto to that philosophy is the core driver of my current suicidal thinking. I feel like I have gone full circle.

I was wondering the same thing, because human connections no longer work for me anymore. I agree with Throwawaysoul's answer. Fandoms and some people are the only ones that keep me alive. I don't really want to have deep connections with anyone and at the same time I don't want them to feel pain when I'm gone.

Otherwise, I don't really have the desire to live in a world this shitty. It just...doesn't matter. I don't like life in general.

Keeping yourself distracted, finding a purpose however small it may be. Maybe social interaction if you are into that sort of thing.

It's obviously different from person to person but if you're like me you don't need to really recover. Suicidal thoughts are not inherently bad in my opinion. Sometimes those thoughts are your brain trying to scream at you that you need to change things and soon because the situation you're in is not optimal for your happiness. I find suicidal thoughts can be a nice blanket of comfort knowing that I can leave when I want if things get too sour. To answer the question though what other people have said, focusing on other thing is the key really. It's not don't think about it so much as get so into something else that you want to think about the other thing so much more that suicidal thoughts don't get a chance to even occur since they're being completely muted by what you're distracted by or excited for.

I agree though sometimes I feel scared that I might just keep distracting myself the rest of my life.

I found the answer to be in disagreeing with them. Whatever you think tell yourself the opposite whether you believe it or not. I find depression to be like a bully. Constantly repeating the same things until you believe it. Well now you have to do the same back at the bully. You have to tell the bully it's wrong and its lying. It takes a while before it starts working but nothing magically works over night sadly
