There's a thread on r/confession right now of someone saying goodbye and that they're going to kill themselves this weekend and it's filled with comments pleading with them to stay alive, and any comment like "i'm planning to do something similar soon, best of luck" is downvoted to hell. Threads like that rub me the wrong way and come across as so ingenuine and fake. Like how do they know better, how do they get to be all so high and mighty about how life is a gift and everyday is a new day? fuck off man, if i were in OP's shoes I'd prefer the genuine comments instead of the meaningless platitudes that fill every depression/suicide thread on reddit. Some people just refuse to believe that life isn't for everyone and that life is hell for some and doesn't get better
