• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Death is bliss

Every time I try to bring up suicide or (a near universal) right to die.
I get lambasted with the phrases, "suicidal people aren't of sound mind".
"what if they aren't of sound mind"

And If I try to bring up my own suicidal ideation in anyway, suddenly I'm not sound of mind.

This angers me.
It's always the same talking points again and again and again.

It's bad when I'm obsessed with death and life and the morality of birth, but it's fine if i'm obsessed with the latest marvel movies.
why? suffering and death and life affect people every day and will continue to do so,
and i'm not sound of mind for wanting to help end mine, and others suffering

it's like people don't see that one day, they'll have to face their death.
I just want people to be free to make that choice for themselves and not have it be a gamble.
life is enough of a gamble already

I just hate that every conversation to do with suicide, euthanasia, assisted dying, can be shut down with "you aren't thinking clearly"

its honestly so stupid that most people don't understand that suicide can be a logical decision or that it is valid to have negative opinions about life. I especially hate it when people say about how I shouldn't kill myself cus "I am just mentally ill." Just cus I am depressed doesn't make my viewpoint of this world less valid and true. My perspective is as valid as people that don't have mental illness.

A lot of viewpoints suicidal people have are extremely valid however, our brains go places the normies could only dream of. The thought of dying genuinely fills me with bliss & because of that , other people typically avoid me. I think ACTUALLY wanting to die will really go over a lot of people's heads.

I don't buy that accusation anymore.

Shit, I've been passively suicidal for the better part of my life, and as crazy as I am, I know for a fact I'm still more sane and sound than majority of the fuckers I've come across.

The vast majority of people on the planet are fucked up in some way, shape, or form, it's just that for us, we let it bleed through a little too much instead of hiding it perfectly behind some pathological public persona.

I don't give a fuck what people think of me, anymore - they've always thought the worst even when I tried to appease or pretend to be normal.

It's perfectly reasonable to contemplate one's existence, one's mortality, one's demise, etc.

And if reincarnation exists, it just makes it even more pointless to care about "saving someone from the ledge", as they'll just be tossed into the "death initiation" and recycled anyway.

Just wanting some peace

I understand as to me existing really is just waiting to die, eventually all will be forgotten about in death anyway, it's just so cruel to me how there's no acceptance towards the personal choice to choose when to cease existing. I'd always prefer to peacefully not exist than suffer so unnecessarily in this existence where there is no limit as to how much agony one can feel that just leads to decay and death anyway, I'd personally rather prevent suffering than prolong it just to suffer way more in this existence I see as completely futile that I never would had wished for in the first place.

it seems that way to me too . they don't even understand the most fundamental fact that they and every human will die. furthermore they don't know the whole universe is expanding and will expand into nothingness, the universe will die also. and much less even realize a human is just cells. many more a whole books worth

I feel like this belies the fact people can be driven to it. Like its very obviously a spectrum.

I think it's valid to consider if one is of sound mind when considering suicide. In my case, I was not of sound mind at all so I'm glad my attempt failed. It would have been a mistake. I think the error people make is assuming all suicidal people are not of sound mind. I also think it's often very ableist. Depressed people are sick, they have a disease! They have cognitive distortions, so we can't trust their judgment. It's a way to discredit valid points depressed people bring up and strip them of their independence and agency.
