I cannot stand websites that show a support number instead of actual results when you search for suicide-related material

I am not talking about instructions for suicide. For example I just searched on youtube "suicidal after breakup" and all it fucking shows is a stupid support number. WHY can't it show me videos relating to my situation? Do they SERIOUSLY think a hotline is going to help more than me being able to relate to a specific video and actual real people making comments who are in the same situation as me? Why does suicide have to be so stigmatised to the point where it can't even be talked about? Why do I have to feel even MORE trapped in this existence than I already am?

True that Y doesn't, I hear you OP and I agree esp if age verification is asked for. But those same sites have to put that in their TOS etc bc if they didn't they would get "cancelled" so fast and the outcome would be the same or worse, they no longer allow the content to be searched at all using certain terms, similar to what occurred following the Pro Ana years online.

I would wish they would do something directly to help those that would probably likely want their pain to ease out quickly and not make them seem like they're not being the ones in the wrong (make them so needlessly guilty)

But instead they would rather make you do extra steps just to reach support that offer nothing less of empty platitudes

Kinda like making a person with life threatening injures to go the emergency room without any one around to help them

There's not many resources that look into the suicidal persons thoughts or why they did it, and even if you find something is usually the same crap message of "don't do it life is precious".

It's like if suicide were to ever get mainstream as a response to the fucked up world we live in then civilization falls or something.

Yeah, obits and death reports are this way too. We are 99.9% sure my favorite teacher back from high school a few years back killed himself, and a huge reason (besides his history of mental illness and implications from relatives) is absolutely nothing was mentioned in the obit. And this wasn't an older guy where him just dying of age related complications made sense. Usually obits will at least say something like "x died after a long illness" or "x passed away in an accident", etc, not literally nothing.

To people who are struggling, it feels quite frustrating that they show these results on web searches, video platforms, etc. Often, you're just searching these things for comfort, to hear others who experience the same things to know that you're not alone. Maybe others even have some insight that may help you get through the pain, but instead you get contrived self-help nonsense and recommendations to submit yourself to the mental health system, including by those hotlines, which many of us have experienced as useless at best and often harmful. I don't believe these things are intended to help people at all, because there's little evidence that they do.
