• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

My parents were pressuring me to get married so I told them that I have been having suicidal thoughts since last 4/5 years. They were shocked and asked me to not do it and be positive.
I am now afraid I did something wrong. My parents don't have any long term health issues . But I am worried for my father. I am afraid he might get a heart attack cause of overthinking after what I said.

Did you feel relief after telling them? You cannot force yourself to get married. That would make you feel even worse.

I don't know whether I feel relieved. I am sure I am not getting married.

He won't randomly suffer a heart attack from you speaking about this. The human body is way more resilient than we give it credit for. You did the right thing. People deserve to know. My dad broke my heart when I told him how I've been feeling lately. Instead of being mad or telling me no, (he was definitely sad and crying) he just asked that he be on the phone with me when it happens. That answer made it way harder because he's one of the people that makes me want to live.

Be positive, go for a walk and smile more, yeah it REALLY would work -_- They should help not say stupid things like that

Well that was certainly better than the reaction I got from my parents, they forced me to meet with a bunch of "Mental Health Professionals" who poked and prodded me for years on end, and it all ultimately ended in absolutely nothing changing in my life, the only change was that I have made sure to hide my thought from my parents, because I would rather die than go through all of that again.

However they also gave me the same platitudes about thinking positive, and keeping my self distracted from my thoughts, which of course didn't work it only exacerbated them. If only it was that easy, if you could just change your thought simply by just thinking in a certain way.

also if you father has had no prior health complication, then he's definitely not going to have a heart attack, that's just your mind overthinking the situation, I'm sure he'll be fine.
