I was like that just a few weeks ago. I sorted promised myself, "if I succeed in getting what I'm looking for, then I won't kill myself, but if I fail to achieve my objective and get what I am looking for, then I'll kill myself near the end of May 2019". As of now, not actively suicidal as I have made a small recovery a few weeks ago and things went well.
To answer your question, yes there has been several times where I came close, and had a very detailed plan, such as when, where, and how I'd die (firearm - shotgun).

I swing back and forth due to chronic pain/illness. came real close twice in the last 7 months once I was brought back from the edge in a forum, the other time my wife stopped me, which I won't go into details. and now I want to live and keep trying but I want to be ready. I have a plan the means but no date yet. knowing i'm ready makes me feel a peace that I cherish. I hope you try to get better and find what you need recovery or suicide
I used LSD quite a lot in the 1980s.. I wasn't suicidal back then...I think my advancing age(57) is one of the reasons for wanting to kill myself

Oh yeah that can be good enough reason to call it quits by itself. If you want to give it one last shot you can get some psychedelics from Dream Marketplace. There have been people that took psychedelics while suicidal and found reason to live. But if you don't want to at that age it's understandable.

Yes. I'm here at 26. It sucks but at least I'll get out of my head and stop hurting others due to my self destructive mindset.
