Possibly the closest to feeling like you're dying. You're talking to the surgeon as he sticks the needle in and suddenly you black out completely, then wake up 3-4 hrs later not knowing where the fuck you are at. I love that feeling. You don't dream, you don't think, and like a switch, you come back to life a bit woozy. I wish they knock me out for good. Anyone ever had this experience?

Oh yes when I had my sinus surgery in 2004. I was scared to death then that something would happen and I didn't want to die. Now...looking back, well....seems pretty peaceful! Yeah I was talking to the surgeon, they had to give me more anesthetic than they thought but finally I was out. Woke up 3 hours later wondering when they were going to operate...and they already did. Crazy feeling,,,no dreaming, no nothing...just out!

Induced comas are nice too, except when they wake you up after a week and you have no idea what day it is, and you can't walk at all.

Ketamine makes me feel like that. Managed to hide some when i was sectioned the first time. I spent 8 days taking it, sinking intk the ket hole, recovering, taking some more. Only need a small amout but boy does it hit you. They just thought i was asleep on my bed most the time. Its funny you knkw they are there but cant move, cant really respond but i suppose as long as they can see your breathing thats all that matters to them

What really freaked me out was hearing stories where you're given anesthesia and it put you out just enough to where you are immobile and practically paralyzed but can still feel everything. You can't move or let anyone know you're feeling pain. That's some scary stuff. I'm always scared that'll happen to me.

YES! I had a surgery in July.
I am telling you I don't even remember falling asleep. I was gone. And as you said you don't dream. Best experience I had this year!

I read this as 'Seductive Anesthesia' and came in curious as to what that was.

Anywho, I've been put under quite a bit and waking up with any sort of idea of what is going on reminds me those good naps, where you wake up and don't even know what day it is.

Those are the best kinds of naps.

Haha you read it that way too?! And yeah I love those good naps! Especially if they're like 3 hrs long.

My favorite is when I get epidurals and injections in my spine. I get 3 mg of fentanyl and versed (midazolam) I'm not sure of the mg. All by IV. I'm awake the whole time. I'm so fucked up and feel like I could just go at anytime.

I had it a few times. It felt like I was floating in the air on high speed and unconscious within seconds. But, I hate when a few nurses trying to wake me up by calling my name and keep shaking my arms and legs.

I would have liked it better had they not botched my surgery. But still better than life, 7/10.

You're lucky!!!! I've had numerous spinal injections/epidurals and all they gave me was a xanax to take before hand by PILL form! I'm not even sure I got a local anesthetic...
