• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I am a noob in tech so they could sell me anything. I don't know shit. There are 3 latops in a medium price range. Roundabout 500 euros. Due to black fridays the prices are reduced.
Maybe you can help. The prices in Germany differ compared to the US.

Are these good deals that special? Do I really save money? Your help would be highly appreciated. Is it weird to ask these question on a suicide forum? Maybe but on here there aare so tech savvy people around. In the past I asked the same question. Do you think I will get similar deals also not at black friday? How common are these deals? Thanks a lot!

No gaming (except one game with very low graphics and low level of power needed (simulation game) - not that important). Mostly college work, streaming (YouTube), listening to music (daily), storing a lot of data.

Thanks for replying to me :)

I'm just checking this...
I'd go for 1 or 3, but based on your needs, 3 is cheaper and seems to do well enough. I just hate Dell. All 3 have 512GB storage anyway.

I don't think the deals are that amazing, but I haven't purchased any tech for 3 years. I'm reasonably ok computers-wise, but can't beat advice for someone who works with them or builds them, and that's not me.

Thanks a lot for your feeback. I tend now to not buying any of these. My current one still works but the storage becomes more and more of a problem. I only would have bought one if the deals were exceptional.

Storage? Why not buy an external pocket drive, move stuff over? That's the easiest way to do it.

I got a hd caddy and I can put old hd into it. 6TB is definitely overkill lol.

Also, most laptop hd can be replaced and Windows transferred over.

I have one but the storage of my laptop is so small that the necessary data overburdens it. My current laptop has 128 GB storage and half of that is filled by windows and some other programms.

Personally, I'd just fit a 512ssd or bigger myself then (have done so in the past), unless the laptop really was in a poor state and just would upgrade it anyway.

Best wishes

I think the laptop is in a pretty poor state. It is now 6-7 years old and I have to use an external keyboard. Lol.

Oh mensch! Well no I wouldn't waste time on doing anything to it then. Let's say you could get something very like the Dell for cheaper - I suspect you're not going to ever get it cheaper than 349. So maybe just for the sake of a bit of comfort, maybe it's worth it now.

I am pretty stingy and mentally pretty fucked up currently. I used this chase after a new laptop primarily to boost my mood. Whether I really buy one was very uncertain. It was rather a distraction for all the pain I am in. I think a new laptop would not solve my problems. I wish there was something to buy to comfort my soul and to fill the emptiness/replace the sadness. College and love related topics totally fuck me up currently. The later one is so fucking hopeless. The laptop would be good for a convenience purpose. Though I am so fucking scared of poverty. It will literally drive me to commit suicide. I am scared to get used to a high living standard which would make my hellhole even less endurable. My life is so fucking sad. But thanks for all your replies :) They meant a lot. Just a good person who tried to support/help me.

I used to love shopping and used consumerism as escapism. Although I'm poor now I have some nice things. But they are just that - things (even beloved guitars hehe). They have not solved my problems. This is the first Black Friday I have bought nothing!

I understand what you say about high living standards. I'm sorry for what you are going through, you seem a good guy.
