  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I broke up with my fiancee, I don't have such intense ctb thoughts, but I'm considering it. Do you think I should leave?

Are you asking whether you should leave the forum? If so, you do not need to leave the website. I'm not actively planning to kill myself right now, and I stick to the recovery forum. I think it's good to have a place where you can talk honestly and receive peer support. It's also good to have a distraction, talking to folks online, when you're not feeling great.

Now, if you are asking whether you should leave, as in CTB, that's a different question. You're posting in the recovery forum and saying it's just one thing you are considering; I think you should spend some time seeing what else your life can hold. Just because suicide has crossed your mind doesn't mean you should take that path. You can have those thoughts and recognize them as only thoughts, not something you need to act on.

Did the breakup cause you to consider suicide, or has breaking up decreased your thoughts of suicide?

You don't need to leave the group if you're feeling better. Recovery and off topic might fit your needs better than suicide portion. Good to hear that moving on from your relationship is helping your emotional state.

I am not a prolifer but if your main reason for wanting to die is caused by this recent event and you may be able to recover it could be a bad idea to ctb.
Why not give yourself a date to kys like in a month or two but try to do whatever you can to improve life before then and see if it works.?

Keep in mind that ctb is the most final solution. There's no way back. You literally abandon everything. Nobody really knows what is on the other side so you throw yourself into the unknown. You can apply it only if you are absolutely sure there's no hope to improve your life. You said that your ctb thoughts wasn't so intense. That means there's a part of you that keeps beliving you can overcome your pain.

I fully agree. You cannot turn back and must be 1000% sure that is what you want. I would advise give it time especially with a new break up- you said you are having less ctb thoughts since the break up so I will assume the relationship wasn't good for you. Have you been through therapy? is it possible to find a counselor to talk about your relationship and other issues?
