• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I realized that when I got my period as a young girl, it felt like a dark cloud consumed my life. I've told people many times that I felt like my life ended when I got my period. When I look back at my memories, the blissfulness really stopped at the age I got my period, and I thought it was just growing up, but none of my female friends feel the same way.
Now that I'm older I think I have PMDD. As I got into my late teens the symptoms of my period intensified overall. And now as an adult the mental symptoms are unbearable.
Does anyone else struggle with this, or more specifically does anyone else feel like their life ended when they got their period?

I don't know how I can live like this forever. I haven't had a moment of peace since I was 10.

I can relate. It feels like all of my psychological issues are massively amplified the week before my period. I've tried hormonal birth control to get rid of my periods entirely, but I feel like it makes me emotionally flatter in a way where the week or two of suffering is preferable because the other weeks are more tolerable. I tried another hormonal medication to temporarily pause my period recently and I feel like it destroyed my psyche. You have my condolences and I hope we can find remedies.

i have pmdd its dx a few years ago i am 36yo and periods started regularly age 13/14yo and symptoms of pmdd have been chronic since start of menses

my pmdd starts around 10 days due to a period and ease at around 2/3 days before start of period, and my cycles are regular 30 days

i have autism and adhd and pmdd is common alongisde either these

if it helps to here my side of experince for you to relate to as less alone or curosity

irritable sensory hell, apathy and loss of interests, zombie state of mind and bouts of rage, sleep issues worsen very hard to sleep as body is increased in irritability anything touching me or sensations in body send me in rage and heat intolerence is worse, sleep autism / adhd problems highly intensified

anger rage attacks no tolerence at all the smallest sound of a beep can make me get explosive rage want to tear my skin off the irritation of touch and senses, i live in noose masking ear buds and noise cancel headphones 24hrs a day, hoodies and caps over my eyes, my brain is torture the feeling is wanting to take it out get away from your brain and the whole body it is irritating and psycholoical torture

a few days increased appetite feel bottomless pit, exhuuative function is worse a task of a drink that involes rinsing out my cup and by the cup is reminders of all tasks piled up so simple tho feel defeated like a ton of bricks how to start it never stops task managment and planning ahead needs like brushing teeth i forgot to order toothpaste too much all too much where to start i am not capable if the never ending failing and the self defeat kicks in try to simply exsist but my brain won't focus or be slient my body is hell and can not rest

my adhd medications have little effect on symptoms during pmdd

magnesium and cbd oil, ashwagha has sometimes been benefical but magnesium holy grail get the magnesium glycinate 3-in-1

my symptoms are similar to what autism and adhd does to me all the time but certain ones are intense during pmdd, the symptoms are clockwork pattern for pmdd 12-10days due menses to 2 or 3 days due menses is regular pattern each and every month

i find if pmdd symptoms are worse one month my period is a little more heavy

I am giving up on pharmaceuticals or really I just can't handle trialing different meds along with meds for depression. Hormonal meds really scare me and birth control esp scares me because of some rumors of certain ones causing brain tumors. I feel like as a woman we just have no hope.
