So, things are pretty hellish in my life right now and getting worse. Was considering CTB before things got worse, but oddly enough I now have hope and although shit is getting much more difficult, I want to try and make things work for me. I know its odd to try and fight to live even though things have not improved, but here I am...

It's not odd at all. It's called self preservation and is one of our strongest, if not the strongest, basic instincts. I hope you find what you need and focus on living/recovery. Being in limbo between wanting to die/live is a horrible state, in my experience.

that's human nature. hope can overtake and make things seem less horrible even though they haven't changed.

i feel the same way at times, but maybe, just maybe, things will change for the better, right?.... right?

I'm in a somewhat similar situation. I say that as long as we have a figthing spirit, we should keep fighting. If we fight, we can keep all doors open, or at least a few, but if we give up, there will only be one open door left. We will all go through that door sooner or later, but there's not really any hurry as long as life isn't absolutely unsufferable.

WOOO! That's awesome, my friend, this is a great idea.

Stick around with us. If you can make it through the shits, you can make it through anything. Going through hell only makes the good times feel better.

What's to lose, anyways? We're eventually gonna die whether we like it or not.

Hope is such a critical element. It sustains through the darkest hours. Consider those who survive an abusive childhood or marriage, combat veterans, oncology nurses, the death of a child, or any of the many tragedies of life. Hope is crucial to survival.

Peter wrote to those who were about to undergo severe persecution to be ready to give a reason for the hope that was within them. Presumably they were going to demonstrate such a powerful example of hope that others would be drawn to find out how they could endure.

You may not be at the point where you can articulate your hope, but you should treasure it. Consider the others who may by your example also find hope.
