• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Do you guys have any resources to find free books? I'm interested in reading dark poetry or something philosophical like regarding the meaning of life. I haven't read any real books in a while besides fanfiction and I'd like to start again to improve my writing skills and just to understand life more. I have a library card which I used to get free DVD's but I don't want to waste time renting books I'll probably forget about.

anne's archive is where i usually get books and then put them on my ereader. i will say from personal experience that if you don't remember to read physical books, it'll be the same with any pdfs or epubs. i felt the same about the library but even now with what i download i usually only read like one book a month because of my anhedonia and forgetfulness

In University we'd just google the name of the book we wanted to read and look at different links until we found a free version of it and then downloaded the file.

Can you not just renew any books you take out from the library online? Also, most libraries these days offer access to ebooks and other online resources too.

fmhy.net see what you find, r/zlibrary just try find the legit domain. if on your phone get an ereader, on pc your browser can open pdfs but you might need a reader software for epub files. sometimes u gotta just google around for harder to find stuff, and make use of isbns of books you want to find. uhh internet archive has a library and numerous books, theres official online libraries out there too. someone mentioned irc, theres also zlib telegram bots if theyre still up.

for finding new reccomendations and tracking what books youve read and want to read, goodreads is great.

I also recommend using ReadEra on your mobile devices, or Calibre on your computer. Both are free without ads and support text-to-speech. I used to Google download links for books and now my main source is the Internet Archive because it offers multiple book formats and hosts its own files without ads or scam links.

If you have a library card and your local library uses the Libby app, you can download ebooks and audiobooks there without even leaving your house.
