I'd behave just as I do on here when someone is ready to CTB. I wouldn't encourage or discourage. If I thought the method wouldn't work I may talk to them about it but that's it. I know how it feels to be stopped by someone and it's very devastating.

It really depends, but ultimately I wouldn't tell them what to do. I'd just be honest about what I think about their situation. If that meant telling them I think they maybe shouldn't do it, then I would, but I wouldn't force it on them in any way. I have a friend who basically has the same attitude as me: maybe I'll kill myself, maybe I won't, let's just see how this works out. At most I'd tell them that, just make sure you're sure.

That'd be my reaction too. I know something about methods, so I'd advise them against particularly foolish attempts, but that's it.

I would not tell him not to, but like others said, I would recommend against it if it was a shitty method with a high chance of failure (e.g. OD'ing, jumping off a 2nd story building, cutting wrists, etc.). If in public (around other people), I would probably try to tell him not to talk about it too loud (as that would be too risky especially around people) and listen to his reasoning. I would not report him or try to stop him because I value his right and choice to die.

I'd see if whatever their problem was could be fixed. If it could be fixed, I'd obviously try to help. If there was no solution, then I'd help. I'd go pretty far to help out either way.

One time I had a dream that my dog and I were in the age of dinosaurs. To make a long story short, in my dream she ended up being eviscerated and I could see her guts hanging out. My first thought was scoop her up and take her to a vet. My second thought was 'this is the Cretaceous period, there are no vets'. I would feel uncomfortable talking about it to be honest. But I would just listen to them and not really go one way or the other with it. I'd be half pro-life and half pro-choice in my words... Idk it's a difficult topic.. It would definitely depend on what the reasons were. I'd likely sound more pro-life than anything.

I'm 29, but I end up talking with kids around 14-17. Reading their reasoning makes me want to smack them upside the head because they clearly haven't seen actual shit unfold. No abuse, no history with... uh... substances, just "Sally doesn't like me because I poked her ass" or "waaaah I got B+ in math!"
One actually managed to get into the job he wanted after a stern chat.
