• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I wonder how the human race will evolve if it actually doesn't make itself extinct. Imagine another 8 billion years ahead, I wonder how everything will look. I wonder if any other animals will evolve to be more like us. Or, maybe AI will take over and destroy everything. What do you think? I'm not sure we would allow another animal to challenge us. If we felt threatened, I think we'd try to kill it before it killed us.

What animal would you like to see get a chance? I think the octopus would be cool. You think- their mothers die as they are born and they still manage to end up as intelligent as they are. That's pretty impressive.

Imo the answer is simple. Unless we find a way within the next 1 billion of years to travel through space to inhabit other planets (that's in case they exists near enough to us) life will be extinct on earth (probably the earth itself will be "eaten" by the sun bc the sun will become a red giant and everything will be "grilled" here. There's noting to be worried about. Any kind life on this plant won't survive the death of the sun.

The remaining life span of our sun is 4.5-5 billion years but long before that it'll be too hot on earth for any kind of life or liquid water bc the sun will become a red giant Mercury and Venus will be "eaten" for sure.

And that's the same for any other life that may exist anywhere in the universe - it won't survive the dath of their "sun". And interstellar travel is already a big issue - it would need many many generations - intergalactic travel is definitely impossible.

Nothing to be worried about, we will die in any case.

Well according to Splatoon, we only need to wait about 10,000 years after the end of humanity for squids (and octopi) to evolve and develop to be very similar to humans. Now will they make the same mistakes as us? Probably. They seem to be really into music, games, and fashion also they've already had race wars.

They could evolve to be as intelligent as us, but I don't think they would have any reason to be anything like us. At the end of the day we are a species of collaborative hunting and gathering primates from Africa, and that in many ways determines the way we act, think and feel. I think an intelligent species that evolved from a different ecological niche would be just completely different from us.

Maybe they wouldn't be social animals like us and would never develop a complex society like we did. Maybe they wouldn't be interested in the things that we are, like art and science, so the way they would shape the world around them would be completely different. Even other human species were probably pretty different from us, I can't imagine how different other kinds of intelligent animals would be from our species.

Sorry for yapping so much, I just think that is a really interesting question.

If the planet does not become toxic too soon, several animals could make the jump.
Chimpanzees have promise. The octopus is smart and crafty. A short lifespan in water holds it back.
I doubt we will ever escape the earth or solar system. We would never get past the ego and graft problems. We will burn up like a piece of toast while those in charge squander any future we would have.
That implies we did not take ourselves out of the game earlier than expected.

In the early 1980s, college professors told our classes that the earth will likely be UNable to sustain life by 2060-2080 due to greenhouse gasses like CO2 and methane. the big idea is the earth gets so hot that plants can't grow. no plants, no food, no food chain, no animals, no humans.

We won't even make it another hundred years. The earth will, maybe/probably/somehow and probably at least the cockroaches will survive.

humans will be lucky to survive another 500 years, we will completely run out of resources within 200 years
we need to get out into space in a very short while to bring back resources but i don't think the laws of the universe will allows us too

if we used all the nuclear weapons on earth to wipe out all life on this planet i don't think evolution would produce another intelligent life form
In about a billion years
Solar activity will cause the atmosphere to lose oxygen, leading to the extinction of oxygen-producing plants and organisms.
