Isn't there a certain irony in the fact that the human brain of some of us wishes to end our own existence, but at the same time our brains are equipped with a firmly anchored survival instinct. I hate myself for failing to overcome SI when I desperately wanted to leave.

If I were a believer, which I am not, I would think God is a cynical joker.

Neither. If there is a god, they do not care. They are a creator and nothing more. Maybe they left to create a thousand more worlds. Maybe they have long since died.

Well, perhaps he's granted us the ability to think and be independent. I really don't feel that his "good" or "bad" is always in line with ours or that he only thinks in these two dimensions. But I really have no good answer for that as I do not regard them as a being whose "logic" and "morals" I can fully interpret so as to provide you with an answer. If anything, that'd be too prideful of me.

Yes, they would be a sadist as they created such a brutal and harsh nature. It's barbaric to intentionally create animals that require eating other animals to survive. It's barbaric to create things like cancer or viruses or chronic ailments or body deterioration or suffering. Everything that god has done to create life and the laws of life is barbaric and cruel.

Of course there is no god though as that is just merely human imagination rather than something that exists in reality

If God is all powerful and all that then we're like NPC's in a game and he's the only player. Sadistic or joker or good or evil, doesn't matter. Have you ever said someone was evil for killing someone in CoD or told them to repent for playing Rimworld or felt sad about killing in Stellaris.

At the end of the day we don't exactly register for people that powerful. Even if he wanted something for us and we were dead, he could just bring us back or talk in the afterlife or just time travel.

Tldr; if god's all powerful, do anything you want cause it doesn't matter

I don't know if you can really assign human values and morals to a God. It kind of feels like the equivalent of when people demonize and hate certain species of animals for acting in ways that we perceive as cruel and morally reprehensible. You can't hold non-human beings to human standards. If God were to exist, I'd imagine that they would likely have no association with any of our religions and they also likely wouldn't operate with the same set of values and morals that we have. Hell, for all we know, maybe they view us the same way we view something like ants. As these sort of lesser beings whose well-being and livelihood aren't something we generally care too much about. You step on them, you destroy their hills, sometimes kids burn them with a magnifying glass, and nobody calls you cruel or sadistic for any of it. It's kind of just whatever.

Maybe their only involvement is just setting the stage for simple life to exist and that's it, with our species' existence still being the result of chance rather than it directly being due to the actions of some being of higher power. Maybe they think that leaving us and all the other organisms around us to their own devices rather than meddling around is the most ethical thing to do.
