• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

If reincarnation were real and you knew it 100%, would you still ctb? This assumes that you're not able to choose whether or not you reincarnated, you are just going to be forced to in this scenario.

Honestly reincarnation sounds like hell. I wouldn't want to come back at all I rather just not even exist but to answer your question I would still ctb. Hopefully I can carry on the knowledge I learned from this life into the next.

It depends a lot on what kind of reincarnation it is. Will I be reborn as a human? Or as another animal. Is there some kind of God controlling this? Will I remember my previous life? Can the cycle be broken?...
There are a lot of questions.

Overall, in this scenario I don't have much choice and I have to play this game because there is no other solution.
I can try CTB and hope that in the next life I will get better cards to play. But there is a risk that my next life will be much worse.
Regardless of my decision, I can't escape the inevitable. I can only speed up the process.

In high school, a friend questioned me the exact same thing
I can't quite remember what I answered, most likely I was not able to reach a conclusion, neither can today

Well, if karma exists, then CTB gives you a lot of bad karma, and you might find yourself in even worse situation that now.
To not be reincarnated anymore you have to get rid of all bad karma (so CTB will certainly keep you on reincarnating again). But that's just from my shallow understanding of eastern religions and karma.
So in that scenario, I would say better not to CTB cause you might end up even worse...

I would. I wouldn't mind starting over and living another life. It would actually be a relief to me knowing that death isn't really the end. It wouldn't be the same life as now so I would have a 50 percent chance of a better life.

Yep, it doesn't really matter to me, a complete restart doesn't sound so bad for me anyway.

It wouldn't make any difference whether I die on my own terms if that was the case then as I'd be trapped in this horrific world forever, I don't believe in such though, I believe death to be nothingness which is all I want and hope for, I'm so tired of suffering in this cruel, torturous existence that just feels like a terrible mistake to me.

As a thought experiment, if reincarnation is real; I would still ctb. Because the "new" life couldn't possibly be worse than my life now. And I get to experience the wonderful ignorant period as a child again. Unless I'm reborn in some shitty 3rd world, then I'll probably ctb again. Hopefully this forum still exist by then.

Yeah, but only cause I beleive in shifting realities. I can just get reincarnated hopefully where I wanted to shift to in the first place, or I can just discover shifting again in the new life :3

Fine print.

Well a mulligan seems a somewhat hopeful thought on first inspection. Would I still CTB?…Yes. Even if I knew reincarnation would happen, even if it was supposed to be some kernel of my soul that passed on, it wouldnt be me. My life mayhap could be remembered but not intimately in the way I lived it. Although I might search again for a love I lost, it wouldnt be the one I lost.

Karma would have to roll with the punches as I have and suck up that CTB as I have my own losses. Rough go indeed.

Could be made more enticing with fine print but that just makes a finer line but still a line it is.

Depends if there are negative consequences for dying by suicide. Even if there aren't, I would probably hold on for now- if I knew I would be plunged straight into another life. Things could certainly be worse. My childhood was awful. I don't fancy experiencing childhood again anytime soon in case the next one is too. At least as an adult, I can be a bit more independent.

I don't really believe in reincarnation though- definitely not in terms of it being (enough) of the same person coming back each time. Surely- we'd remember past lives if that were the case. So- if we are born again in some capacity, I feel as if the part of 'us' that gets recycled is so unrelated to what we understand to be 'us' that in effect- we'll just be someone else! How can 'you' even be 'you' with different genetics- different parents, maybe a different location, a different era? All those things make up who we understand ourselves to be so- in those terms, it won't actually matter when I die. If I come back- I won't be 'me' anymore. I'll likely have no memory of the 'me' I am at the moment.

It works in reverse- do you think 'you' as you perceive the world now existed in exactly the same format 100 years ago? 1000 years ago? 2 million years ago, you would have been a caveman. Do you suppose they were that similar to you now? What were we when humans weren't on this planet? Dinosaurs? Or, did we exist on another planet? I just don't really understand how reincarnation could work practically. The human population has also surely been steadily increasing all this time. Where do all the new souls come from?

If reincarnation were certain and there was no choice but to return to life, the decision to ctb might depend on the specifics of reincarnation. If the circumstances of the next life were random, this might feel like a gamble. Someone who perceives their current life as intolerable might still choose to ctb, hoping the next life would be better—or at least different. Conversely, the fear of ending up in a worse situation could discourage them.

If the next life carried karmic consequences, the idea that actions in this life influence the quality of the next one might deter someone from ctb out of fear of worsening their circumstances.

If memory of past lives is erased, knowing they wouldn't retain their current burdens or memories might make the concept of reincarnation more tolerable and even appealing. However, if life itself is viewed as inherently undesirable, the cycle of reincarnation could feel like an inescapable trap.

If that was real or if I believed in it, I would not CTB because the statistical odds of my life being worse in my next life is insanely high. Wouldn't exactly like to be reborn in China for example, but the odds are more in favour of that than against it.

Yes, I would still CTB. I don't hate life in general, I just hate what my life has become. If I was reincarnated there's at least a chance of having a better life.

If I knew reincarnation was 100% real, I would want to CTB more. At least it would mean I had a second chance.

The main thing for me /w suicide is the permanence of it, the true end to life.
But reincarnation was 100% confirmed I'd be speedrunning ctb man.
I get A WHOLE NEW LIFE?

and the way I see it, either it's "Only my soul, no memories" in which case, I'm not gonna care cause "I" am still effectively in oblivion in a philosophical sense, or I get the massive benefit of restarting life will all my memories and experience.
