• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

This whole forum is inherently political, based on the notion that there's no centralized way to kill yourself in many governments. I understand that. That's valid, I want that too ***given the current governments we reside in***. So what do I believe? I believe a government that provides all the needs of the people will do wonders for us. I'll use the USA as an example.

Socialism in this country, is the idea that everybody is guaranteed healthcare (including mental), decent housing, decent education, an adequate wage, and a job. THIS ISN'T RADICAL. It's only viewed as radical because of the systems imposed. Almost ALL the issues of the people here would be improved or straight up negated if they were born into this. Of course for the time being, pro choice is the most reasonable thing. But it's not THE solution, in my eyes.

What do you all think? Would your problems be negated under a better government?

Decent Education: Negates bigotry and tons of ignorance
Wage and a Job: Gives a steady living and a will to engage
Housing: No homelessness.
Healthcare: Free healthcare takes less money out of people's pockets (I also believe in a mental healthcare reform. It sucks right now)

I could be currently living in a utopia right now and I'd still want to kill myself. Right to die is an issue that comes down to bodily autonomy. While I'm also a socialist I do not think that state reform will negate everyone's problems. This isn't to say that it won't help prevent some from killing themselves over things that wouldn't be problems if it weren't for the way our society is structured, rather it is to say that some people want to die for reasons that have nothing to do with what you are talking about.

Just wanting some peace

Personally I just don't want to exist at all, I find existing to be completely undesirable in every way possible, I need painless death as I just have no interest in the futile and torturous burden of existing as a human. This existence that I never would have wished for and never would have chosen was imposed in the first place so I should be able to painlessly free myself from the imposition of existence whenever I wish to as after all not everyone has interest in existing and sees value in it, I see existence as something so cruel and harmful.

I'd prefer to painlessly die and never suffer ever again, the thought of reaching an old age in this existence where there's no limit as to how much agony one can feel is terrifying to me, I find existing to be completely unnecessary as well, the way I see it just creates suffering there was never a need for, personally I just want peace, I want all to be gone and forgotten about for me, I only hope for non-existence, only in non-existence will I be unable to suffer.

I think it would be the answer for a lot of people. But people with health issues-mental or physical- would still need the option.
I would be less likely to want to ctb if I knew I could count on food, shelter, and medical care.
But I would also feel more able to go on if I knew I had the option of quitting when I was done living.

I live in a country with most of these. Yet I still want euthanasia. Many are also here due to things like abuse (that is hard to fix because children and minors are under the power of adults, and orphanages and foster home systems are often even worse than some abusive parent). Some are here because they look different or by random chance were chosen by hateful humans to be bullied, which affects the victim's health for life. Public schools can barely do anything about the hateful nature that is in humans as a species. Others are here due to relationship issues. Should we then ban and jail spouses who divorce? Or stone spouses who cheat? Obviously not! Also, the medical science is not as advanced as people think. Many are here due to chronic illnesses and handicaps. You can pool all the money you want into creating free doctor visits and hospital staff and free CT-scans, but what can they do if the technology and medicine has no clue about your condition? This is especially true of mental health science. Most mental illnesses can only barely be managed, and that with hard work on the patient's part. Things like trauma from abuse, SA and war can barely ever be healed. So instead, a lot more ressources should be pooled into RESEARCH first.
