• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

actually he released a book with that information, he's like an activist about sanctioned suicide.
i have epilepsy and obivously get medicine for it, but i'm so fucking unlucky that my medicine is not
included on the list of meds to use to commit suicide, because my medicine has two functions.
apparently it's also prescribed to people with mental problems, i guess it affects their brain differently.

so for this reason... my medicine is not on the list, because he refuses to publish medications for mentally ill people.
which i kinda understand, i guess.

but i'm not mentally ill, lol. i'm on a medicine for epilepsy which apparently also is prescribed for other reasons.

i tried asking him privately, he doesn't wanna help... :/

Google Translate?
I used it in small chunks to get the gist. My phone was giving me a hard time copying and pasting. I'm so bad with technology lol. This is a cool resource though!

There are probably better ones than Google. Sure of it.

Medicines can have multiple properties, that's why they can be prescribed for more than one thing.

I take pregablin for anxiety, it is also used for epilepsy, neuropathic pain, restless leg syndrome etc.

He wrote a book about that , so why doesn't he want to help ?

he doesn't wanna list the medicines that mentally unstable people use, and my medicine falls under a grey zone, it has 2 functions

Interesting. I understand Danish so this might come of use to me at some point, though sad he doesn't want to help people like you in particular. I can understand why, as I guess he thinks mentally unwell people don't have agency/clear mind(?), but still..

Do try to limit things between here and IRL but yes. I am actually surprised to see someone else living in Denmark here, haha.

Sounds like pregabalin. It's what I'm prescribed for anxiety. I'm surprised it's mentioned in that link. I would never attempt with it. Too unreliable.

Oh yeah I know. I am a foreigner here so I never know if it's just me or society here as a whole, but I have met a loooooooooot of unhappy Danish people personally, especially many which the system or society as a whole has failed and low-key given up on.
Outside of that, even the Danish people that appear to be happy—even to themselves—also seem to struggle with things, and seem to be coping in various less healthy ways like alcohol or mindlessly numbing themselves with media, at least in my view.
I also feel people on the streets generally look very unhappy or in a state of low-key depression. Though I do believe the F-tier weather here plays a large role in that, as when it's sunny and warm everyone is suddenly outside, happy, smiling, talkative, but otherwise I might as well not exist, lol.
But again, could be the culture as I stand out like crazy and have never been able to adapt to life here, even though I was mostly raised here.
Contrast that to California where I was seen as a local there and had non-stop positive, happy experiences and an easy time meeting and talking to people, and most importantly also saw a lot of self-expression and drive, which seems to be a thing that's more frowned upon here, janteloven and all that.

That was actually in the cocktail of meds I used when I tried to OD some years ago. I had it prescribed for anxiety as well, though in my case that was a side-effect from drug withdrawal.

then i started developing integrity and not just going along with what anyone else says...
and yeah the weather also affects me bad lol, which is like 80% of the time.

I wonder what the relationship between depression and fitting into society—specifically in Denmark—is.
Looking at my friend groups and acquaintances, the ones who are "as Danish as you can be" are generally doing well on the outside, your plain average Dane. However, looking at the cohort who is more unique and strays away from traditional values, wants, needs tend to have a way higher predisposition towards having a lot of mental health issues. Just anecdotes, though, and there are a lot of other confounders as well but interesting to ponder about at least.
Having spoken to older people who are unique themselves—but actually happy now—they also all dealt with a lot of shit until somewhere in their 30s where they stopped caring, but prior to that they had bullying going on, getting outcast, mocked, ridiculed etc which made their mental health poor.

One thing that's interesting is that Danes love to say people don't care if you stand out, but everything I and the people I know on a deeper level have experienced point to that very much not being the case, so I honestly don't know why people keep perpetuating that saying, or perhaps not realizing that it's not true because they themselves never stand out in any way whatsoever. /rant sorry lol

well, the thing is, if everybody is doped up on depression pills, and they get asked in a survey if they are happy,
they will answer yes, bc they are high.
that's why it's called the happiest country.

same thing with the word "hygge" and how they claim it's exclusively a danish thing.
it just means coziness. it can exist in other countries too.
but i guess it's good for tourism, so whatever...

the same way it's good TV when they make shows about if Elvis or Tupac is still alive.
it's not true, but if there's a market for it... lol
