• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

This happened in the past and I think he's dead but I wonder what you think . I won't link to it because it is triggering but if you look it up on "IrishTimes or "TheJournal you'll find it.

It's generally another argument by pro-lifers that we're selfish not just because of how it will affect others but the fact that they believe we've been given the gift of life.

This argument can be disseminated if one looks close enough. Firstly, it's easy to criticize suicide when you have a generally supporting family along with never having suffered from life problems/mental issues. As well as that, it makes sense that most terminally ill people beg for life because generally, most of the population wants to live. It's confirmation bias at its best.

Do you think that the media will print a story of a middle aged worker who had a shitty family, was kicked out, went to work in coal/gold mines, got lung cancer and is no longer up for life? No. With the exception of negative world events, people don't like to hear about negative stories from people in the news.

It's unfortunate he got a terminal illness if he wants to live, but he has no right to judge others. Clearly he doesn't have a mental illness. And I'm guessing his terminal illness was manageable because there are many people with terminal illnesses that think it's too unpleasant and just want to die.

Medium TV celebrity presenter or whatever here in my country.

First get cancer, after two months she feel better and declares herself healed and that people battling with cancer are cool and rad AF (someone with cancer says that they don't feel that cool...)
Now still battling with cancer , goes out for the first in six months and declares that she has always an huge will to live and that people that haven't it are LOSERS!

Well...

I hate her, I hate anyone that think that the will to live is a matter of will.

People without legs and arms that are so happy and ready to impart you their wisdom.
Well, I'll cut them any other part until they'll finally declare that I have probably cut them the will to live and that they're starting to barely understand what a normal fucking average day has been for me for the whole of my life.

In order for something to be a gift, there needs to be a choice. Ie if I said here is a sweater as a gift and did not give you the option of saying no, would it still be a gift? Just like the sweater, coming into exsitence in not a choice.

The idea that you can't quit becuase you will hurt your parents or the individuals who forced you into exsitence is even more absurd. Let's imagine a scientist buids a robot with human emotions, it hates exsitence. What would you think of the scientist, if he told the robot "you can't quit, that would hurt me!, how dare you be so selfish and cowardly!" Would you think the scientist was abusive? Evil?

To make it worse much of the pain from suicide hurts others becuase they do not your respect the descion of suicide, or the dignity of the suicidal person's cousiousness as a result of pro life propganda, their belief system etc. However most people will agree people respecting your descion is not on you. Ie if I am gay It is not on me to convince people not to be homophobic. It would seem ridiculous to suggest that someone can not be gay as it would hurt their parents. Likewise for suicide.
