Is it ethical for me to kill myself, on the basis my GF will kill herself if im dead?

basically title. GF is only stable because of me. im depressed and suicidal... she is stable. if i killmyself, sooner or later she will also do the same as she will fall back into depression.




I love my family and they will be broken also, but my gf is my priority rn.

We all have to make our own choices. It is possible that your death could be a catalyst for hers, but you are not the one pulling the trigger. Ethics and morals are a gray area in suicide, we can't tell you what is right and wrong. But you can keep going for her and finding reason to stay for her, if that is what you would like. There's nothing wrong with that. If you are unsure, maybe you should stay and see what the future has to offer.

@WildAtHeart This relationship is not healthy. No couple should depend on each other for living because the choice to live and see beauty in life is something a person has to do within themselves.

It's not your responsibility to "save" your girlfriend and keep her stable. I am sorry but your girlfriend has serious issues and she needs help relying on you for stability is not healthy.

Let's stay you broke up with her she will most likely kill herself. Even if you don't kill yourself there is still a chance she will kill herself if the relationship breaks down know so way.

@TragedyBornCrimson Relationships can break down at any time whereas family is for life. You can always get a new partner but you will always have 1 mother and bonds between siblings can never be replaced.

People should live for their children if they have any or family members who seriously depend on them ie your a breadwinner, carer of a disabled parent or family member etc.
Living for a girlfriend or boyfriend is never a good idea because they can leave you at any time.
