  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I've got a roommate that's a real asshole. Constantly on drugs, making death threats, breaking into my room, stealing cash, nair in the shampoo, taking days and days of sleep away from me, the whole fuckin' nightmare scenario. I've gotten pretty good at playing stoic and getting him to fuck off, but I feel like all the energy I devote to that is getting in the way of my recovery. Is there anything short of moving that would allow me to exit survival mode and process my grief while this is ongoing?

im gonna guess theres a reason you dont call the cops

in your specific situation, hard to say.

personally im managing to do it, but my situation is completely different from that however still follows the same "recover while chronically stressed" line

That sounds incredibly stressful! How long do you think you need this person to afford rent? Are you able to move and find someone else looking for a roommate who hopefully is a better fit?

Chronically stressful situations, permanent stress and all that can have severe health effect on us. You should change your living condition.

Imo it's impossible to recover from anything - especially MH issues - in such a situation.

Cost of living here and the surrounding areas is steep (average rent for a studio is around 2,300), so probably indefinitely. My girlfriend and I have been looking in the 1,500 range, but no luck so far. Real bummer

Hi, just wanted to give a quick update. The insight from people on this thread really helped me to mobilize and make the necessary change. I doubled my efforts and found a nice little studio for my girlfriend and I to split. It's a couple hundred dollars extra, but if it's a choice between remaining in a situation that has me on here every night and money being tight, then the right thing to do is now obvious. So- thank you!
