  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

I am already on 20mg of the drug a day for psychosis, can I just continue taking them and not have to worry about buying more anti-emetics like Metoclopramide which interacts in a dangerous way with Olanzapine?

Unfortunately, I don't have the required medical knowledge to provide a definitive answer. However, I can provide some information that may assist others with more detailed knowledge. Here's the best detailed information I could find regarding the pharmacological properties of Olanzapine:

So, it exhibits a range of receptor affinities, specifically 5HT and dopamine antagonism, which is required for SN. However, to what degree is not clear compared to meto or domperidone, so required dosage is difficult to say. It also doesn't appear to have gastro-prokinetic properties, which the recommended antiemetics do and which produce rapid stomach emptying into the intestines where absorption occurs.

It is used as an antiemetic for nausea induced by chemotherapy.

That's about as much as I can contribute.

Thanks for your response. Sounds like its not really worth the risk and I should probably come off them first before CTB.

Any updated information about this thread?

How severe a symptom of schizophrenia or bioplar disorder does one need to have in order to be prescribed olanzapine (zyprexa)?

Meto/Reglan is a lot easier to get a prescription for than Zyprexa unless you have the proper disorder or are doing chemo, in which case you should be all set because they give you all the drugs, and the benzos too.

When I was on chemo, I had Zyprexa, Zofran, Reglan, and Ativan. Too bad I wasn't trying to ctb back then. LOL
