• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

Asking because today I was informed that a relative of mine passed away a month ago. I was told a lot of details on it - which I did not ask for- and I am horrified. Apparently she had been writing a lot of notes about how she wanted things done with her funeral and her affairs so it looked planned. They also found her in a position that looked like she had passed in agony (next to her bed, nightstand was opened and had fallen over) but they didn't find anything at the autopsy that pointed to anything else than a natural death from old age. I know she was grieving a lot and I know people can will themselves to die if they feel hopeless enough but that's usually not a process that involves a lot of planning. Is there a method that would leave no trace on the body? I have a vague memory of having read about something but that may just be wishful thinking. For some reason it kind of torments me that I don't know. The whole thing is painful to think about.

Well, who are the heirs? Did your relative have possessions? If there are several heirs and nothing is written in a will who receives what then this often ends up in dispute among the heirs. Maybe your relative wanted to avoid this? People also may want to have the funeral planned and arranged before they die. I wouldn't think about it too much it's just what people do. Especially when people become older it's pretty common to write a will when there're heirs.

They weren't official documents the way you normally (the testament was written two years ago) would but handwritten notes left around the apartment, about everything from funeral arrangements to which books belonged to the library and when they were due to be returned. The dying was was planned no doubt, no matter if it was suicide or psychogenic. My father suspects the former, I suspect the latter.

I'm sorry for your loss. The only undetectable method I've heard of is N2 (nitrogen gas) but it obviously requires a partner who would remove everything. Apparently upon autopsy there is no indication (that's per Exit). But I also believe those deaths are high on the peacefulness scale, and the agony you describe and the posture of her body doesn't really match descriptions I've read of passing by N2. Really sorry you're dealing with this.
