  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

In the past I have had awful therapists who would imprison me for no reason and were generally the opposite of understanding. There was a time I told one about something personal that was troubling me, thinking it would be confidential, but she got the police involved and nobody understands how I really hoped to be safe. I'm just told it was idiotic of me to have thought that she could legally keep that kind of secret.

I can't utilize "coping skills" like deep breathing, cbt, etc. because they were forced on me by past therapists who would refuse to listen if I said that I didn't currently need to use a strategy or that it wasn't working for me, and now I can't calm myself when I'm anxious because those calming strategies remind me of them. I don't know how to deal with negative feelings because trying to calm myself makes me think of past trauma.

In the future I want to seek someone to help with depression but it doesn't seem like it's even legal for someone to be calm and understanding about suicide, rather than defaulting to "that's bad, you need to be locked up immediately whether you like it or not." I don't know what to do when it seems like trying to get help will infringe on your rights of freedom. Is there any possibility of finding people who aren't stubbornly pro-life? They don't even have to be pro-choice, I just want someone who won't tell me I'm "wrong" or argue with me that life is worthwhile, and definitely won't force restrictions on me.

Yes. They exist. Talking about things in past tense (I was feeling CtB a month ago) helps because it puts distance between the event and the current state. A month is my personal choice.

Not all doctors are bad but the ones to be wary of are called allopathic doctors, basically they only treat symptoms but never look at root causes or less invasive ways to treat stuff.
