I'm sorry you're feeling this way brother and it has led you to considering this.
I'm not sure this is a sensible idea, some of the posts here have indicated that even a small dose of SN can lead to accidental death or some kind of hospitalisation, ironically this may do more harm than good.
Since you work for your poppa have you spoken to him about how you feel, in the way an employee would speak to an employer?

That's fair enough, hopefully if you've been able to open up a bit this may provide at least some temporary respite while you figure out your next move.

I think this might work, and depending on the supervisor/manager as well as the workplace policy, some might ask for a doctor's note or some way to verify that you were actually 'sick' rather than taking your word at face value. However, if your supervisor/manager trusts you a lot and knows then he/she might not look into it too deeply.

I'm not recommending anything, but I don't think your idea is "dumb" at all. Sodium pentobarbital was used not too long ago as a both a sedative and hypnotic, and was used widely in the past as a sleep agent. I read on another suicide forum (I think Google Groups) the reports from a woman who used tiny doses to see how it would make her feel. She wrote she used a very small amount (I don't know how much) and felt extremely weak and tired...
