  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I'm talking about full mental recovery. Not moving along on pills or surviving, or overcoming a specific trauma or difficult situation. After so many years of theraphy and trying to improve ones life without a hint of progress it just feels like so much busywork that society showes down your throat to keep you busy and quiet until you actually die from natural causes. The people that I have talked to and claimed to have recoverd were never actually depressed.
I'd love to hear peoples input on the subject.

I think there is no cure for suffering and pain, but there is a way on how you deal with it. It's a very buddhist way to face life.

I think of it as continuum your life moves along taking the conditions with it it's not static, we don't get depression after one incident or situation, as we have to move on to the next. There's no specific cure fir these conditions. except we learn how to cope snd deal with them better.

I think we just acquire more functional coping skills and strategies to carry us through the pain and suffering

This. People just find better ways to get by it. Sometimes that even means dragging along someone else to help carry the burden.

After years of therapy, I say no. You can adapt, learn skills, actually feel better, but it's hard work.

I'd say that if you've suffered a major depression, it's possible to recover, but only to 90 %. It leaves a scar which will never disappear. Had I had curable depressions, 90 % would have been good enough for me, though.

some people make full recoveries. some seem to make full recoveries and then decades later relapse and for some recovery is not possible. it depends on what the person is recovering from though and what caused that along with many other things.

I have been trying over 13 years, done every med, therapy, group known to man, even changed my situation and lifestyle and done all of faddy techniques. (deep breathing, cbt and mind fullness)

In the end I settled for modafinil to keep me productive and Xanax to help me chill. Job done
