  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I'm having a rough month, a lot of will towards CTB, even planning on it, thinking about how unfair life is in general. I couldn't contact my friends to talk about it, it seemed like I was ignored or just didn't know how to express the urgency. After crying to sleep for the entire week and trying to keep my mind off things today some small things changed my mood completely. I was beaten up and exhausted emotionally but I had to go to the vet cause my cat needed her yearly vaccination. I did it and after I was ready to go the lady at the reception (which is close to my age) started chatting with me about the cats ( they have 3 cats in the clinic). I was petting the cats and talking about my own cat too. We chatted for about 40 minutes or more only about cats. It was nice and fun and she was really sweet and when I was going she wished me a great week and holidays. I got back home, took a bath and had a nice meal. I hopped in my friends voice chat and I kinda started to notice they were noticing me. It feels like my mind was clouded but suddenly a silly conversation about cats made everything clearer. I feel so much better now. I feel grateful it happened. Small kindness really really matter.

I'm so glad you had a nice day  I hope you find more happiness friend, I'm rooting for you. I think even acknowledging someone's presence can do so much to feel heard. I don't think people realize they have that power.

By the way... your profile picture reminds of Tatsuki Fujimoto's artstyle (I've only read Sayonara Eri but I know Chainsaw man is huge) is it from one of his works?

Thank you for sharing your day. I hope many more of these small but surprisingly fulfilling occurrences are to come. Happy holidays to you and your cat!

Personally I watched the movie but the manga is one volume only so it goes by preference. The adaptation is beautiful tho, can say that I cried watching it

Then I think I'll watch the movie soon :) As in torrent it right now LOL. Do you know of other authors that feel like Fujimoto? (I know I haven't read much, but I enjoy how ugly he lets his characters think at times- compared to other writers who are afraid to alienate the audience too much.)

The only one that I feel comes close is like Yoko Taro.

I really like Yakinobu Tatsu (Dandadan), he even worked with Fujimoto as an assistant artist for Chainsaw Man, also Q Hayashida (Dorohedoro) I love her art style a lot!

One manga/anime I can recommend a lot is Vinland Saga, it really changed my life perspective and the story is very realistic and raw.

Oh! I've been caught up with vinland saga for like a year...? I might be a chapter behind though. What's happening now is crazy! And to be honest I've never talked about with anyone, how do you feel about the final arc? Personally I thought the thematic evolution of of the story makes sense... Doesn't make it less sad. The clairvoyant native american dude was crazy too now that I remember it. I hope bug-eyes lives to the end. I'm also scared Thorfinn is going to sacrifice himself in order for his family and friends to escape back to greenland. Anyways I read it after berserk looking for more seinen. I really enjoyed it and seeing the evolution of the authors life in the after word of the chapters was also really nice to read lol.

Right now I'm reading Blame! and I've been really liking how atmospheric it is, also going through the manga adaptions of Tsukihime and Welcome to the NHK (The latter being probably one of the most relatable stories I've ever watched/read). My friends have been liking Dandadan and now I'll probably check that out during winter break. Dorohedoro I've never seen before, but I've bookmarked it on my favorite reading site, the art is really nice

Also, plan to let you know how I feel about Look Back (now downloaded on my pc), my friend and I are planning to watch is sometime this week! (Probably Friday-Sunday):smiling:
