Is it so selfish to want to feel a little better?

Today I started a magnetic stimulation treatment, with a new psychiatrist. I ended up being late, but I didn't miss the first session. I didn't even have the time to take my meds today, and I feel... Oddly okay?
I won't be able to explain the technical terms very well, but basically I took several pulses in the right frontal lobe region. My psychiatrist explained me that it would be an inhibition protocol, which I also can't explain very well. It should be able to help me with my depression and my epilepsy, which is a great deal for me - especially since I have been struggling with the symptoms last week. It sucked.
But I have a feeling that, surprisingly, maybe things will end up alright for me?
I have been struggling w depression for 7 years now, so my family has been worried-plus the fact that I had a pretty bad cutting incident last month, I had to take 33 stitches on total. And apparently, when you are depressed for a long time, your brain "chemically molds itself" to function in this defective way... But since there's still a way to fix it, I think it's worth the shot.
The shocks hurt tho
I hope I get used to it bcs I'll admit that it's quite bothersome lol
