  • Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

Im studying a course on Coursera just now. It's hard to say if I'm manic. But I'm studying psychology and not only blazing through it but I enjoy every second of it.

Hearing about Phineas Gage and Rene Descartes in the same hour. It's bringing me back to when I had an interest in living.

Yes! Learning something new is how I survive! I learned this from my brother. He lives in a place where winters are really winters and getting out is difficult. So during the summer, he decides what subject he will study during the next winter. You should see his book collection! I told him when he dies, I will take his books before telling anyone he is dead!

I moved here two years ago and have taken up this idea. The first winter, I immersed myself in the classics of the fiction of the early twentieth century. Hemingway (who btw committed suicide by gun), Steinbeck, et. al., most were a reread and it was surprizing how different they were fifty years of life later. Second winter was anthropology. This year, political ideas. Capitalism vs socialism. We shall see how that goes because it will challenge my personal belief systems. Kinda frightening, tbh.

Challenging one's thought processes seems to help push back the black waves. Sometimes. I'll take it.
