i see people suceed who arent better than me but just have more luck in life


i got a chronic illness with 19 and this literally destroyed my future. why me?

i know you shouldnt compare yourself to other people but c'mon now - fuck this

People say you shouldn't compare yourself to others. But honestly, it's normal human nature. Who hasn't compared themselves to others at some point?

you should really keep it to a minum tho - eg all this social media shit is super unhealthy

i dont know if there is a sayin lke this in english too but in my language there is one which could be translated as

"losers look at others, winners look at themself"

and its kinda truth in it - however easier said than done...its like its printed in my dna, i always compared myself to others

If you can. But there's going to be times when it's inevitable to look at what someone else has and you can't help but feel bad that you don't have that. It's human nature to observe others and the world around you whether intentionally or inadvertently.

To me, sayings like that are just society's way of beating up on the less fortunate (like many of us on this forum). The fact that people are called "losers" is prepostorous.

Sure, well there's lots of things people do that aren't technically useful but they still do them because they simply can't help it. It's more of a knee jerk reaction to the world and others than wasting energy.

The inherent unfairness of life really annoys me, especially since many people advise that one should reconcile oneself to life's unfairness rather than try to ameliorate it. If and when I do ctb, it will be in large part because I am sick of trying to live in an unfair world.

I see the two big sites of unfairness in life as being:

(a) outer circumstances
(b) the body.

Outer circumstances involve things like human constructions, e.g. society and institutions, and nature, e.g. natural disasters.

The body is the source of so much unfairness and suffering - physical and mental. Our biologies are just so faulty; it is not fair that we have to live inside of them. I'd like to preserve my consciousness, which is cool, and just get the hell out of this faulty body. Bodies are a big aspect of what makes it hard to be human.
