Yes, you are right. People can be very cruel and they can hurt us. I cannot stand people. I prefer to stay away.

Are you nice? If no, you are like everybody else. If yes, you shoud respect yourself for that. Going against the grain is never so satisfying as when you do it with grace.

There's a difference between nice and altruistic. Nice is kindness towards those we know and like. Altruism is for those we don't know but go out of our way to help anyways. Altruism is not all that co.mon though....

I wonder if people are not nice because of aspects like money, greed and power. Like when my "parents" died and left me zero. I asked both my brother and sister if I could have 1 family remember item, um.. no ! everything was theirs, greed.

In business I have seen so much ego and horrible greed that it makes my head spin. Not nice? Yes, and it was a lot about money and/or power.

I have always, oh ya and stumbled often, never ever said I was even close to perfect, BUT I try my hardest to be kind help others and remember that I leave with what I came with, zero.

I have seen folks who would back stab someone over money or the like, BUT brag about being "religious" and going to heaven.

If we, as a species, are around long enough, maybe just maybe we will evolve but right now, yep humans are not so nice.

The one thing that I would like to mention about this post is the fact that I truly believe that all of us here on SS and the most loving and the nicest folks on the planet. I hearts to hearts mean this and not just saying something or repeating myself from some of my past posts.

Many mean well. I've always had a kind heart. My mouth just got In the way & i tols lots of ies or masked how crap I feel for decades to please others. Many people don't mean to be unkind I know now my parents loved me only wanted the best for me but I saw it as interfering all my life. Not everyone is unkind it's just How we often view it.

I agree with Chockles,. I believe most people are nice / have good intentions but it's how we view / perceive them. Sadly there are still plenty of people who aren't nice and Some are just flat out mean.

If it weren't for the fact that I'm such a lovely person myself and can be a great friend myself, I'd have given up hope of ever finding a good friend years ago. Most people aren't very nice.

Another member here actually introduced me to Bukowski from this video. Mods, if this is a little dodgy for the Recovery space, then alright. I just think it's nice to read the words of someone calling it like it is.

I can't say what's wrong with me. I often post such posts that show my need to want find the answer but there is never a full answer, although your replys do help me explorer these feelings.
I only know that in someways it worse and in others it better but not really better I think I just care a little less.

I guess I'm introvert or something I find a lot of peoples behaviour strange and fake, it's a world I can't comprehend. I always feel people no matter how good they are in onc sense are never a 100% true and do take some pleasure in there little outbursts.
I have then started to take a almost perverted pleasure if I can make a bully or such person squirm but this of-course has set me on my very dark path where I seem to be alone maybe even child like in my idea of what makes people good.

My brain is rewired through my total lack of trust and belief in people. It is a dark cloud that won't disappear for any huge length of time.

I just don't know, I know most people don't view the world as this cruel place I do.

This definitely trascends culture. Perhaps in smaller primitive tribes it was different, but in a "you mean so I kill you" way.
