• If you haven't yet, we highly encourage you to check out our Recovery Resources thread!
  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

It is for bipolar people. We were 5 people today. I was glad that there was this dude who told me one time he thinks he gonna ctb in the future. One guy made funny remarks about someone who might has killed himself of our group. Obviously I did not like that. I compare myself to them. Many of them have a way better life than me. This dude who knows the feeling of severe suicidality really helped me. But he barely spoke a word.
It was a good appoinment to socialise and train my social skills. (Reduce my social awkwardness.) I would wish to find a gf in this group. But there are way too few people in it.
I have found my love with anime/manga again. This helps me to reduce my worries. I am still in recovery but it might only last for 3 months. It might backfires extremely but that is my decision (and there is no alternative)

Bipolar diagnosis in my opinion is something psychatrists can just say you have with no evidence. If you are bp that sucks. If you are not and diagnosed this that sucks too.

Groups are great but you're right that there can be a ton of pressure when you have so many people to compare yourself to. I just told my therapist about that since I was going to a group that ended recently. She said that it's too easy to compare our insides to other people's outsides, but ultimately it's a futile thing to do because you might never get all the details you need to make a fair comparison for yourself.

Everyone's in a different place in their journey, maybe the guys who seemed better off were exactly in your shoes a year ago. It's good that you are taking steps to recover even if they might not last long. Maybe this time it will last 4 months instead of 3, you never know. The whole point is sticking with it so that you can feel an hour or so of comfort in this crazy world.

I'm interested as to how many people find group therapy helpful?
I really struggle with one person, let alone a group

It can be helpful. But sometimes I envy them because many of them are way better off.
