• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I've been very open about my journey with anti-depressants. I'm a bit worried because my psychiatrist upped my dosage from 40mg to 100mg and I now have to take it twice a day. Am I just overthinking should I be worried?

What are you worried about?

If it's the side effects, in my experience psychiatrists have never told me the full range and it is absolutely in your best interests to research them. Some meds have really serious side effects that I wish I had known before I blindly started a med or accepted an increased dose. However, the risks may also be acceptable to you - it's your choice to go along with the prescription or not.

If it's whether your motivation for CTBing will stay, then it sounds like you may already be on the fence if you're considering going with the upped dose. Deep reflection might be useful here to understand what you really want. For yes/no questions, my mother taught me a trick: flip a coin, heads is yes and tails is no. Catch the coin in the air and don't look at it - you'll know which side you wanted it to land on. Again, only you can answer this question.

I'm worried about side effects and any other thing that can happen from such an upped dosage. I know I will eventually CTB but right now I'm just trying to make it through until I help my family and friends enough so I can.

It's understandable that you have concern, but it's not unheard of. I am assuming you either told your doc the current dosage wasn't having any affect. Or that your mood/depression/anxiety has worsened? You can always read up on any meds you take. You can learn what the starting/therapeutic doses usually are and also what the maximum dosages tend to be. Some meds the range can be quite large and others much less. Always note if there any side effects and relay to your doc.

that's absolutely understandable. Have a little chat with your local pharmacist, they should be able to help with any concerns. A doctor usually starts people on the lowest dose and then increases.
