  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I don't come here often because I am not suicidal anymore so that is good thing, but I would still want to share my list of things that help me achieve relative peace of mind in this crazy times of loneliness and general existential dread I feel. I am fully aware It won't apply to everybody and that not everybody is as lucky as me and maybe for some these things might not be possible.
-Not focusing on what I do not have or cannot have. (distracting myself with things I enjoy like art or games or talking with people)
-Distracting myself with positive thoughts or things, like memes or cute stuff, or maybe some dumb political disputes or philosophical disputes
-Toxic positivity, I know that It sounds good to be always devoted to truth even If It hurts, but some people really go too far with this.
-Imagination- I think everybody can do It, and as Neville Goddard said : Your imagination creates your reality. Try imagine yourself in world or circumstances that you would be happy in. It doesn't have to be realistic. Just make yourself happy. If you cannot imagine yourself happy try imagining being not sad or depressed. Go as far as you want. Make your imagination a safe place. Ignore all intrusive thoughts, It will become easier and easier with time.
-Sleeping
-being in the sun
-hot baths or showers
-Joining discourse on internet
-Watching silly movies, I mean like kids movies. They are so innocent.

These are my top picks, I would add hobbies but these are hard for dopamine-serotonin deficient folks. I wish you good luck

I'm glad you are doing better friend. Thanks for taking the time to share these tips. I can second being in the sun, it noticeably helps overcome low moods. Bonus points if you go for a jog/run but even just walking around in sunlight is good.

How does this work when the person has anhedonia? Meds don't help.

That pic is great. He looks so serene and indifferent. If it were a person, I wouldn't feel the same way for some reason.

Your imagination advice is pretty thoughtful, I already daydream a lot - guess I could take it even further.

What helps me most whenever I'm down is humor. For example: being in the office and doing something extremely tedious and annoying- but coming across a funny name or an absurd circumstance - I joke about it in my head and focus all my energy on that instead of hating my situation.

Also music is very good for forgetting negative things and getting absorbed into another realm.

Lastly, I do mundane sorting/cleaning tasks a lot - they keep me feeling organized and calm.
