• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I can't be the only one that likes talking to the people here. I don't have friends irl and don't really have any internet friends. But all the people here are nice and are somewhat like minded and understanding. I appreciate that. I hope someone else relates.

P.s. I know I haven't been in this server for long. But it's felt more like home than my real home.

I feel that. It's like the only place you can really talk about how you're feeling without feeling like youre upsetting someone or dropping your emotional wellbeing on someone and making them feel responsible.

Plus there no half advice or "cheer up it's ok". People here validate you and actually listen and keep things real rather than sugar coat a lot of things

You're right, it's really not a bad place to express your sadness and ideas that go beyond what is normally accepted.
If you like, we could chat, although I still don't see how to access the chat.
Greetings, a hug, be well.

If you like, we could chat, although I still don't see how to access the chat.

fwiw:

I'm not much of a "chat" kind of person, so I haven't used that functionality, so the following is based purely on observation, not actual experience.

CAVEAT 1: Currently chat is locked down until specific (but not publically known) criteria are met. There's been some allusion to an account over a certain age and a minimum number of posts. (Based on the age of both of your accounts, I suspect you'll both have to wait at least a few weeks. In the meantime, actively participate in the forums.)

CAVEAT 2: I've seen mentions that a user who has access can start a chat, but if the other user does not already have chat access, that chat simply doesn't exist in any form for them. (Aka, the initiating user is simply chatting into a void.)

I've seen two ways that it appears someone can start a chat with another user.

The first option that I've seen for individuals, is on their profile. When I try to view both your's and @gnarly's profiles, they show up as "This member limits who may view their full profile." so this option clearly won't work.

The second option is after you click the speech bubbles icon (on my mobile view, that's in the upper-right corner, between the lightning icon and the search icon) and once there, there's a "Private Conversations" section, with and an icon to the right side that allows you to add new people to the conversation.

Well, thanks, the other day I found out that I could have "conversations" that are somewhat similar to chat.
I didn't know that my profile was "This member limits who may view their full profile.", I would like to make it public, I'll see that and if you can guide me that would be great.
I think you're going to report me for how you comment on the matter, I hope I don't cause you any problems.
@wren-briar what is "fwiw"?

@Hero Remeer - I'm currently having very intermittent, but annoying internet issues, so this won't be as clean a post as I'd like

I'm sorry if something I wrote felt uninviting or threatening. I certainly don't have any plans to report you (should I ;-) )

You had inquired about chat, so I was simply trying to provide a concise summary of what I've seen around here.

As for making your profile a bit more open, it took a bit of searching, but I think the settings are available at https://sanctionedsuicide.site/account/privacy under "Allow users to:"

Hope that helps!

Whilst I am glad that I can talk about my views here without having to deal with annoying pro lifer bullshit, I still don't really feel safe here. I guess that I can't really feel safe anywhere as, at the end of the day, I am in a community full of humans and I can never feel safe around humans

Yes, it's a massive coping mechanism for me too. Thanks to everyone here and special thanks to our Mods who I'm sure put so much work in to keep it running and as safe as possible.

definitely. can't talk about half the things on my mind anywhere except for this site, without social exclusion and a potential trip to the psych ward. this is the only place that i can actually process what i'm going through

You're not a burden. Just keep repeating that to yourself. You are a valuable human being who is dealing with something huge and energy-sucking every minute of every day. By definition, we protect ourselves when in danger. So we isolate. We have to conserve our energy just to survive. Because this is not yet discussed enough publicly, it automatically causes us to feel like we must be a burden. You know what I found out? As soon as a person who previously abandoned me because I was "too much to deal with" - as soon as that person experiences a dose of what I go through, they're suddenly empathetic and they start to really listen. It's human nature. Never feel like a burden. That's a lot to ask, of course, because we feel the burden every day and assume others must see it too and want to run away. Repeating things to yourself even if you don't believe them starts to change the neural pathways in your brain and (it's a slow process) you begin to think differently. I lack patience and unfortunately that's what it takes to survive. I try to give myself some grace every day. I hope you try to as well because you will see that you are worth it.

Relatability is comforting. I feel so alienated around "average" person... And I, too, would love to connect on a more personal level here, but, indeed, chats are not available to me yet, haha...

Same here.
The people of SaSu are geniuenly the kindest, most caring souls. The outside world can be very harsh, uncaring and cruel. The rest of the internet too. But not here. Not here.
Everytime my thoughts get too dark to handle I know there is one place where I can go where I will feel warm and welcome and cared for - and that is SaSu. The people here are amazing
