Tbh I have the feeling she is really stupid and incompetent. Recently I asked her to do autism diagnostics with me. She recommended me an online test and when I told that to the autism self-help group all of them said this is a ridiculous handling of diagnostics and amateur like. For clearity I live in Germany.

Last week I told her I went to a pro-Palestine protest. And she sort of called me out. I cannot say exactly without specifying about the region I live. But she asked something like do you like it that old Nazis are still honored? I had to chuckle and replied what has this to do with a pro-Palestine protest? She could not answer that. She replied I just want to know that now. I told her from my side we don't need to discuss politics in therapy. But she insisted that I answer her question. I gave an answer she liked. I thought well that's nuts. Making this association. What does she want to achieve with that? I think she considered this her duty. She told me jewish people don't even dare to walk down the street because of antisemitism.

My friends considered her behavior nuts too.

Therapists don't want us to fight for social justice, as various therapists have shown me. They want us to be quiet and slaves to the system.

What does being pro-Palestine have to do with supporting Nazis?

I mean, if we're being honest right now... take a look at what is happening in Gaza at the hands of Israel and compare that to Hitler's Germany and you tell me which side looks the most like Nazis. I'll wait.

Yeah... I mean. if your neighbor kills your friend and then you kill your neighbor... and his family... and all his friends and their families... that's not exactly justice, you know.

Trust your instincts. Her behavior is NOT ok.
Leave. Get a new therapist. She's wrong on so many levels.

Hi, don't want to overpry, but I'm curious about her actual qualifications. Is this an actual licensed therapist? Is she a private therapist? What degree does she have?

Her behavior is entirely unprofessional and I'm curious as to why that might be the case.

Also, while shes not necessarily barred from making political statements, it's generally unideal for maintaining a healthy therapeutic alliance. It could also be a violation of her specific clinics policy but that can vary and is rarely going to make a change. That said, it doesn't hurt if this is common behavior, since if she racks up enough complaints and transfer requests it does affect her standing at a clinic. If she's union or a public servant, it's going to be hard to get her removed, but it doesn't hurt to send an email.

Now if she is making anti Palestinian statements and you are of Arab descent that could unironically cross into discrimination violations.

Regardless it's not her place to make these statements and I'm sorry she has. I suggest asking the clinic for a new therapist or if she is a private therapist then searching for a new one.

Yes, she is an actual licensed therapist. Not a private one. Theoretically, I could search for someone New. I took her because she gave me the first appoinment. I am not sure if the therapists are the reason why I don't make progress. I am just a really difficult case.

I am not from Arab descent. But I had the feeling the nazi question should have been a "gotcha question" Which I considered ridiculous.

I'm Murican so idk the German policies regarding what she can say sadly, but I imagine it's the same there as here.

That said, if you think your relationship with her isn't going to help or could even harm, then cut it. She arguably cut it for you by being so insensitive and unprofessional.

As for being a difficult case, it could be worth pursuing a different form of therapy rather than psychotherapy(talk therapy). CBT, DBT, or ACT depending on what you need. Also, given that you are in europe(lucky bastard) treatment resistant depression treatment should be easier to obtain, afford, and even work(if you do something like ketamine therapy). That might be an option worth exploring, assuming it is depression and not a different disorder.

But she insisted that I answer her question.
Sounds more like an interrogation session than therapy. Germany has strict anti-Semitic hate speech laws and people have been jailed for breaking them. Sounds like this person is baiting you. She can't help you and has already put you at risk. You might've smoothed things over but it sounds like her mind is made up about you. It's likely she'll be unsympathetic toward your troubles at best and at worst could subvert your life. Stay far away would be my advice and be careful with assuming everyone shares your political values. Honesty, I wouldn't even offer an explanation (especially in digital communications about the subject) and just ghost her before she finds a way to cause you trouble.
