• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Hiya peoples, so as most of us are aware things are about to be changing in the UK, with the online safety bill being passed as legislation and law now, this has kind of got me worried here, I am worried about these changes due to come in effect soon here in the UK, I saw the heading mentioning this when I tried to log in here earlier and I been googling it since, how will this impact UK sasu users if any, and suicidal discussions in general, it speaks a lot about changes to internet law concerning children which I am for, and i bet most of us are, I mean keeping kids safe online I think most of us would agree with, on a fundamental level, but consenting adults ?I mean safeguarding kids and the content they see online I can definitely understand, my thing is how will this effect us using this site and most of the UK adult users that use it, will we need to switch to a recognised VPN, or could we stay as we are and be relatively anonymous, I am just extremely concerned here as it isnt clear what is changing exactly, is there cause for concern or is it doubtful little will change for us adults, and can we continue to use sasu when we want, as we do now or will this site be banned for us uk users, god I hate it here folks đŸ¥º, i just slightly worried about these prompt changes due to come into effect very soonies, and accessing the site in the foreseeable future, does a mod know what effect if any this will have ? Thanks

Idk but I wanted to rant how pathetic of an excuse this "think about the children" mentality is. Literally anything could be banned by that "logic". It's just a deceitful strategy of the ruling class to further oppress their slaves while they keep committing all kinds of criminal offences and ethical transgressions without facing proper consequences. The average peasant can't even light a fat joint and pop some shrooms without getting the popos called on them while the rich run their own pedo islands and human organ markets. What a disgusting species! I'm ashamed to be a member of it.

Damn that was so well said honestly, but your spot on with what you say, I mean the kids ok, but you just know they will use that line to squash what little remaining freedoms we currently enjoy, I spoke to an american the other day who was genuinely taken aback and shocked at just how little freedom we currently have here when I was explaining it to him, you hit the nail on the head, thanks for your comment btw, you said it better than i ever could, it would be funny if it werent so bloody infuriating, how there continuing to whittle away our freedoms, may I wager that pretty soon we wont even be able to take a shit without big ol daddy government telling us where n when lol, đŸ¤£

One could be charged for taking a dump even in remote woods if it is "owned" by someone as a private property, so we're already at that point. You have to try harder than that to paint a dystopian future.

They're weaponizing 'children' as a reason.

Is this gonna prevent children from going into porn sites? No. PornHub isn't gonna take drastic action to prevent minors from entering the site. There's a point where it's not the responsibility of the site but the user.
It's like a minor seeing furry porn on twitter then making it a huge deal that they're minors and they're not supposed to see it when twitter allows porn. It's not up the user that tweeted furry porn to be responsible on who sees the content because they can't control that.

This bill is stupid. Good luck trying to fine porn sites.

In some ruling or other (which I cannot currently find) on the Communications Decency Act of 1996, a judge wrote, in effect: "Children are a part of society, and as such they should have age-appropriate access to the internet. However, society does not consist ONLY of children, so it is reasonable to expect that the online world will have adults-only spaces, just as bricks and mortar cities and towns have their adults-only spaces."

On paper no one is disagreeing with that, but unfortunately internet age verification involves either typing in a birthdate—a measure so flimsy it is defeatable by anyone who can do math—or the uploading of government-issued identity documents, which everyone registered here will understand is undesirable.

Apparently, the UK government's solution to this dilemma is to tell the computer security industry to just nip off and invent something better. The deadline would be about a week ago, when the Online Safety Bill was passed.

Okay … we'll all get to work on that …

Reminds me of Ron DeSantis using the "think about the children" mentality to censor schools from using any kind of LGBT thing in the classroom as part of his plan to continue the genocide against people who are transgender or non-binary. Disgusting where this mentality leads us to in soyciety

Last part, let me remind you that that's called an unjustifiable overreach of government
