  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Behind the guilt was compassion

Most of us here are in physical or psychological pain. From what I've gathered and experienced the two phenomena are closely tied. Since we have both chronic pain sufferers and sufferers of loneliness/ personality disorders/ mood disorders; pain management seems like a fitting subject for recovery. Share resources, your own experiences and solutions for dealing with pain of various kinds.

I'll start off by saying that while I have had a few experiences of intense physical pain, almost 99% of all of my lifetime pain has been emotional. What I find helpful is translating the emotional pain (mostly loneliness and worry) into the physical counterparts. What is the feeling actually, in the physical sense? What is the bodily sensation? Separate it from the thoughts.

Look forward to reading the one or two replies. Happy posting!

I manage pain by sublimating it into hatred and then sublimating the hatred into motivation to destroy things I hate and build things I like in their place. Like yours, my pain is psychological, and on top of that very difficult to explain and understand, and therefore evokes no compassion or empathy in anyone. This disconnection makes hatred come easily.

If I didn't have the pain, I would not have the hatred, and then I would not have the motivation. I would be a placid couch potato. Pain is why I do anything.

Are you completely sure about this? Being understood and cared about is a fundamental human need, you might want to try to get this resolved.

I'm that potato, and can attest to the shittiness of such condition. I'd rather feel something that would drive me to a live worth experiencing, or to my death. It sucks to have no fuel when there are so many points of interests all around. The velocity of the car becomes irrelevant and so is the distance to the destination point.

I have had 24/7 chronic pain since my car crash in April, 2015. I was NOT at fault, I was driving south and another person was driving east and he blew through the stop sign and i t-boned him.Of course he did not get a scratch and I had part of my spinal column torn out of the back of my brain. I have been on opoids since and I also get shots in my backbone and base of brain 4 times a year. The 24/7 physical pain has really amped up the emotional pain. But all of my global family members here really help me with the emotional pain aspect. THANK YOU for that!! Walter
