Question,

Has anyone watched this movie seeing that reality is so bad and finding peace through sacrifice is exhilarating?

I had to analyse this movie as part of my Spanish class, so I've seen it probably 20 times. Honestly we watched it over and over. It's a great movie but a lot of the characters in it are representative of Franco era political situation and a lot of interpretations involve the whole thing being a political metaphor as far as I can remember.

pan's labyrinth is one of my all time favorites; a dark fantasy masterpiece! and I agree, peace through sacrifice sounds like a perfect ending!

But thank goodness for subtitles lol.

ya I don't know any Spanish so if not for the subtitles I wouldn't have know what was going on! but seriously the movie was so good that I didn't even notice the subtitles; it was like it was in English!

It's one of my all time favorite movies. Yes, it is dark, but I think the child represents there is hope and strength even in the darkest of times.
