• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I've seen a lot of stuff on here about partial hanging, and full hanging. The partial megathread claims that partial is more common statistically, which seems odd to me because that method isn't usually depicted in media (and suicide trends typically follow media), but I wouldn't know.

I found a nice tree to possibly do full from, but now I'm second guessing myself. Maybe it's just the SI.

Is either one more or less painful than the other?

Right now, this is the situation I'm dealing with:

I have a noose prepped and ready to go. I could go out to my tree in the middle of the night and do it then. Disadvantages to this are that 1.) Nights are very cold here right now, which would cause quite a bit of discomfort and 2.) The idea of going out into the woods at 3am scares me quite a lot, though I'm not really sure what I'm scared of

Alternatively, I could do partial in my bathroom. It would be a lot warmer, and the fear of being outside alone at night wouldn't be there, but I don't live alone. I doubt my roommate would find me if I did it at 3am or so, but it's possible. I also feel like it might be harder to overcome SI in my own home, and I'm worried about how well partial even works

So, I really don't know what's best to do.

I believe that the partial can be less painful if done correctly by pressing the carotid arteries, but there is a greater chance of the SI coming into action, causing you to retreat.

The total has a chance of being more painful if not done correctly, but the total is more lethal since there is no chance of going back.

From my own experience I've been struggling for a couple weeks now to make partial hanging work. I almost blacked out (this was after quite a few attempts) then panicked and stood up and didn't die :(

Honestly if I had the courage and a place outside to do it, full suspension hanging would be the better way. Much more lethal. But I'm too scared. Both of getting found out and the pain.

If you truly want to prepare to end it, and then end it in one go, full suspension is the more sure fire option.

I'd say with partial you have to practice and it's still not a comfortable thing to do over and over again.

With complete hanging there can be a violent crushing of the vertebral arteries (16.6 kg of pressure is needed on the neck) producing cerebral ischemia with immediate loss of consciousness. While with the crushing of the carotids it takes many fewer kg, but about 10/20 seconds to lose consciousness. So it is very difficult to crush the vertebral arteries with the partial. Another way to die from complete hanging is the neurovegetative factor: intense stimulation of the vagus nerve, which runs vertically in the vasculonervous bundle of the neck together with the carotid artery anteriorly and the jugular vein posteriorly, and of the carotid sinus receptors can produce immediate arrest of the heart with death from reflex inhibition. In this case you would be dead before the crushing of the carotid arteries cuts off oxygen to the brain. This is why complete suspension is more effective, because it blocks many channels essential to life.

And do you have an idea of the best way to have the crushing of vertebral arteries ? Something special about the position of the knot ? I suppose it's not that because in all cases the knot must be behind the head, in the middle. I want, I want, I want to CTB with full suspension, I'm ready. But I'm so scared, so scared about the terrible pain. Crushing of vertebral arteries would be a perfect solution with immediate loss of consciousness.

it's normal to be scared, we all are. But full suspension is not so painful. Loss of consciousness come so fast that you don't have the time to suffer.
It's just your imagination that works. You don't what it is, so of course imagining yourself suffocating by hanging scares you. In reality things go very fast with full suspension, you won't have time to suffer, you will loose consciousness almost intantly, within seconds. There is a report from a survivor that state it clearly, you don't have time to suffer, you black out too damn fast.
