  • Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

Good morning, afternoon or night, everyone.

I am a guy and I have had a highly sensitive nervous system since birth. This has determined the life I live now. For most of my life I did not realize that I had this feature and therefore I caused myself and, unfortunately, continue to cause myself a lot of harm in my life.

There are about 20% of people in this world with such a nervous system. And it is not a disease, it is a feature that is inherited.

Perhaps this resonates with someone reading this text at the moment.

People with high sensitivity report an increased reaction to stimuli such as bright light, pain, caffeine, hunger, loud sounds, etc. It has been proven that the psyche of highly sensitive people "is quickly overwhelmed by external stimuli, since they have a lower threshold for perceiving the environment. Their cognitive processing of external stimuli is deeper than that of most people." Deeper cognitive processing leads to an increased response time to environmental cues, which can be expressed in a more cautious behavior.

Because of this, highly sensitive people tire faster, as they quickly spend a large amount of energy on deeper cognitive processes. Such people need more time to make decisions, and it is more difficult for them to adapt to the social environment. However, high sensitivity is not the same as isolation, secrecy, or weakness of character.

If after reading anyone recognized themselves, then perhaps you could take the test by entering in Google or any other search - elaine aron hsp test.

There are also books written on this topic. Both by Elaine Aron and others.

It would be great if this information helped in your recovery and a more harmonious life in this world.

It makes sense that an over sensitivity to the environment could make life feel unbearable. I know that high sensitivity to noise is also a common trait of autism.

I'm grateful that I don't suffer from it but I can sympathise certainly. I've lived in exceptionally and antisocially noisy environments where it severely started to affect my sleep and quality of life. I'm sorry. Life has got to be that much harder with this.

Thank you for your attention to the topic I raised. In certain situations, high sensitivity can be mistaken for autism or other neurological disorders.

I appreciate your sympathy. It is sad that you were in an environment that was not suitable for you and that affected the quality of your life. I wish you well.

I am highly sensitive as well, particularly to loud sounds (which are very unpleasant for me, a lot of the times) and pain, but also to bright light sometimes.

I wish you well

I am highly sensitive person and that's why I want to kill myself. We are genetically different and I hate being different. I am only similar to genetically normal people. Living from one overstimulation to another is not for me. And I know it will be like that forever. My sister, her children are normal and their life full os success. Sensitive people have doors closed everywhere. We are even wired to environment differently when compared to normal people. 95 percent of sensitive people are suicidal

I would like to be normal with normal nervous system, high sensitivity is something normal people are not born with. It is genetic abnormality that makes you very limited in life. I have problem with jobs, I suffer from depressions all my life. I want to end my life. Today was my mum's funeral. She kept saying that the worst thing in life is to lose children. Now she's gone and I have green light. I didn't go to funeral but instead stayed at home practicing measuring sn that I received today

Highly sensitive people have very excitable nervous system which makes it impossible to function normally in society. Many of them have problems with jobs because they can't take normal stimulation.

Hello, regular john.

I understand you very well in your desire to commit suicide. To be normal. Frequent "meetings" with closed doors that may not open.

I have experienced the same thing as you for half of my life. In my case, I also adapted to everyone around me, neglected and did not understand my interests, this constantly led to numerous irritants and mental overload. I changed a different number of jobs and all of them were not suitable for me as a hypersensitive person. I thought that I would behave and live like everyone else and I would succeed, just like them, but it did not help. I myself did everything to make my life look like hell.

I read that you had problems with work and that is why you fall into depression and I start to cry. I am sad that your mother's life has ended. I understand your desire to stay home and not say goodbye to her according to tradition. When my father passed away, I didn't want to be there for his farewell either, but I had to, it was very shocking to me.

Now I am helped by reading a book about highly sensitive people, author Elaine Aron. She is highly sensitive herself and therefore understood this and with this book she wants to help all people with hypersensitivity to understand themselves, accept themselves and live in accordance with their nature of hypersensitivity.

regular john, you are a wonderful person, I am so sorry that you had to face such difficulties in life and now you are thinking about the end of your life.

Throughout your life, you deserved and deserve a happy life in accordance with your needs, interests, dreams.

I apologize for not being able to communicate with you in a private conversation yesterday. I rarely visit this forum, as I am looking for a path to myself. I will visit the forum more often and if you want to write me a private message again, I will be glad to chat with you.
