• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

The percentage of people who suffer permanent damage after a suicide attempt with sodium nitrite, or any other means, can vary widely and there is no precise statistic for each specific case. However, some studies indicate that rates of permanent damage can range from 10% to 50% depending on the severity of the event, treatment received, and individual conditions. It is important to note that every situation is unique and the risk of permanent damage depends on various factors, including: 1. **Amount of substance taken**: High doses can lead to more serious consequences. 2. **Timely treatment**: Prompt medical intervention can improve the outlook. 3. **Pre-existing health status**: Medical conditions may affect the risk of complications.

So you're saying that among survivors of a suicide attempt with sodium nitrite the damage reported is in the order of 10-50%?

Yes, exactly. Among survivors of a suicide attempt with sodium nitrite, it is estimated that anywhere from 10% to 50% may suffer permanent damage, depending on various factors such as the amount taken, exposure time and effectiveness. of the treatment received. These percentages may vary based on specific studies and individual circumstances. It is important to emphasize that each case is unique and that timely medical intervention can reduce the risk somewhat.

Among these damaged between 10 and 50% is it possible that there are people who can no longer communicate or write due to the damage suffered?

Yes, it is possible that among the people who suffer permanent damage following a suicide attempt with sodium nitrite there are individuals who can no longer communicate or write due to damage to neurological or other cognitive functions. Neurological consequences can vary widely.

Well, if there was no damage done to the body (due to taking poison, in this case, SN) we wouldn't die. Sure, there is a risk of short and long-term damage in the case of a failed attempt.

Idk of any threads where survivors talked about whether they suffer long-term health problems or not.

The risk of failure is there but if the attempt is well planned and nobody else disturbs the attempt chances are pretty high to be successful.

I am not saying this is not true but every person that has survived it said it had no long term damage. AI can be at fault or maybe all the people documented were just lucky. I still think its a better option than c02. Most people that has survived that reported long term damage. Some even had to learn to talk again. Look it up

How do you define "long-term"? A month, 6 months, 12 months after they were rescued?

Most people took a week to recover completely. Like I said, we have no actual proof that this is true. This is just the words of people who claimed they took sn and survived. Maybe its the truth. Maybe they lied and never took sn. We don't really know for sure. I am not sure why would they lie but this is the internet and I wouldn't 100% believe anything anyone says, even here

If that's your method, you reallly dont wanna to be found in time.

SN is a poison that will make your body suffocate, this means that's your body will prioritize your brain. Depending the amount of time, it will damage your longs, your heart, your muscles, and the brain will slowing dying. Got rescued in "time"? You "may" live with a lot of permanent damage.

That's why it's recommended to do this in a hotel if you dont live alone, test your SN for purity because the time window generally is between 30min to 2-3hrs from what I read in the assisted SN suicides.

Bad joke: I'm gonna be a stinker, at leat two days for sure for someone find me, sorry....

The bottom line with SN is hypoxia. It deprives the body of oxygen by changing the blood in a way that it can no longer deliver oxygen to organs.
Make no mistake, this can cause a plethora of long-term problems up to & including a chronic vegetative state or organ damage.
There is always, ALWAYS grave risks if you survive. Most people don't suffer this with an but its always possible.
If a person on this website winds up a vegetable then there's really no way for them to report it to us. The grave danger is always there, make no mistake. Don't take this for granted🤗🌹💔

SN is generally a safer option than other methods. But all methods come with risks. AI is also not a paragon of perfection, I prefer my information to come from the source.

Those with real damage after failed suicide attempts can no longer write here in the forum...

There is therefore always (!) a distortion, as only those with little or no damage still write here. No matter what suicide attempts. Of course, there is always a residual risk.

Especially in sn there is a lack of oxygen to all organs including the brain.

That's why a clear decision for or against suicide is so extremely important and, if you decide to commit suicide, then extremely safe planning. A half-hearted attempt sometimes ends badly, I've seen it happen to people.

This is it.

To further the medical explanation,

Tissues found in organs become deprived of oxygen, leading to tissue ischemia. Ischemia is reversible if oxygen delivery is reversed quickly enough.

Ischemia that lasts long enough can cause that tissue to permanently die, known as necrosis.

Tissue necrosis can cause permanent damage in any organ, but liver, kidneys, and brain are affected quickly since they require the greatest amount of O2 delivery per minute.

For you to survive and be permanently disabled or vegetative would require that you took just enough to cause widespread tissue necrosis but spared enough surviving tissue that your organs can sustain your life.

Unlikely, especially if you are left alone for at least a few hours after taking SN.

maniac116 (edit: over2025 and Regen as well) said it well. If you survive after brain was depleted of oxygen theres always a chance.

However AI's 10-50% numbers are far off. Its closer to 5-15%*
* of SURVIVED attempts, not ALL attempts. If we give that 20% attempts are survived, your chances to survive+get longterm damage is .2 x .1 = .02 or 2%. Not that bad. Still you see how planning is important, either u dont try to ctb at all, or you do it and maximize your chances- dont drink SN under a short upset / argument, or if parents are downstairs or will come home in 1-2h. Ideally you would want to go to deep forest, WITHOUT your phone. Many people regret ctbing (see "the bridge" documentary) the second after they did their step. Add to this hyperventilation, huge panic caused by terror, breathlessness and feeling of impeding doom, and you see how many people were saved after calling 911 (even from Sasu).

SN is not consumed to survive, with or without damage. If you carefully follow the SN protocol and make sure that no one finds you for several hours, there is no reason to even think about this.

You'd think it'd be more widely known about if that was the case. Parents would be on the TV talking about their son or daughter who is now in a vegetative state from taking SN. There is none of that, just survivors (who appear to have few lasting side effects) and parents of those that CTB.

This. It's completely useless in this case. I don't know why people are taking it seriously at all. Sad that people dont seem to understand the extreme limitations of it
