  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Have you been at a point in your life where you felt your faith was permanently broken?
Mine has felt permanently broken for awhile. Even if I can see some truths in it, even archaeological truths, it still feels broken to me. People have told me to just pray and whatnot and it would come back. I just don't feel that it can or that I can go back. Ever.
What are your thoughts?

Using Christianity as an example, there can be almost a thousand different flavors. If someone was raised in one that proved to be off track, it would almost seem a betrayal. It might seem that one's faith was broken. The solution to restore faith is to go to the work of sifting through the bad contributions people have made over the centuries and find what is true and solid. This can become the basis for trust which is faith.

If it is Christianity you would like to reconnect with, here is a link to a site that describes a core of Christianity. This might help if you have found a particular flavor of Christianity unreliable. Your questioning and seeking are good resources to use to cut through the distortions and error.

Nah, that's bunk. Christianity is what would be considered lukewarm water.

First, what is your belief system that you would consider to be "permanently broken"? :) I doubt you'd make this thread if you did not wish to see it repaired if I can try to help you with it~ :)
Second, why is it broken? Have bad things been too much? Is sin/whatever similar concept your religion has been too much? Have you been convinced of a new belief system or convinced this one is wrong?

Nah, that's bunk. Christianity is what would be considered lukewarm water.
The link @timf replied with demonstrates a form of mere Christianity, a concept that takes Christianity back to its basics and implements those~ It abandons certain denominational beliefs that may trouble you while keeping the soul of Christianity~ It is not what Revelation 3:16 describes as "lukewarm" but rather still actively encourages doing good deeds based on one's faith rather than going along with everything the world says~ ofc, you could mean something else, and if you do, please tell me! ^_^

Have you been at a point in your life where you felt your faith was permanently broken?
Answering your initial question, no, I've never been at a place where it's been "permanently" broken~ It's cracked before, right when I joined this site actually as I suffered greatly at a church-related place I was at and began to have doubts that I couldn't quickly answer (shoddy internet). After reading Myotei's Dialogues, which directly countered the beliefs I was beginning to favor instead, restored it tho and further research myself has near completely discredited anything else.
