Preferring to go out when it's dark/at night

There could be several reasons for this. The world is a quieter place and you're not subjected to all the claustrophobic sensations, the garish images and noise and can walk around more anonymously. You see less illustrations of the rudeness and selfishness of people. I just look like shit most the time for one reason or another, you're not as likely to get people looking crossing the street and just generally it helps me feel less of an outsider. Summer with long days is a fucking nightmare.

The day times living in the country were nice like for all these reasons, but in built up areas lose all of them you can't even see the stars very well. i kind of always was unstable but since losing the house and coming to the city, i think it has a lot to do with the mess that's going on. I miss the bats coming out at dusk, croaking of frogs and all that shit. We're connected to all that much more than city life imho.

I prefer the middle of the night, too! There are less people and traffic, no need for sun protection, and for the people who are out, there is little expectation that I should be smiling, social, normal, or dressed up.

New Order has a song titled Sub-Culture I sing in my head that begins:

It's not safe for a young woman to do but I enjoy walking in the city centre alone after a night out. It's generally only to the nearest fast food place or to a taxi, but there's a nice calm after being surrounded by noise and bright lights in bars and clubs.

I prefer it too. I did my shopping at five in the morning the other day, unfortunately people were starting to get up. What I will say is the chances of running into anyone at night are far slimmer but if you do you (or they) are even more likely to cross the street
