When the site was down, and the server lost information like posted threads, did they lose messages from chats too?

Security update: At around 2:28AM EST, the site was labeled as malicious by Google erroneously, causing users to get a "Dangerous site" warning in most browsers. It appears that this was done by mistake and has been reversed by Google. It may take a few hours for you to stop seeing those warnings.

From what I'm aware all activity on the site got deleted during that time period sadly, so yes.
Only the chats and PMs after Aug. 31st are lost, same like with the threads and posts. Older chats/PMs are there. The chat is back up again and working. You find it in the menu on the left side.
