  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I was thinking of seeing a psychiatrist. I wonder if some of my mental issues could be fixed. Anyone had any success Or am I wasting my money?

Well it's worth the shot, ain't it? Give it a try and see what it can do for you. May range from medication or getting some other alternative forms of help. All I can say is different things work for different people. Seeing a psychiatrist helped me, but I've gotten to a point where I can go by without medication or having to rely on that.

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor that practices psychiatric medicine. As such, he is likely to try various medications to see if something is helpful. You should be cautioned that there can be serious side effects to some medications and research them yourself before committing to try one.

A therapist might focus more on developing coping skills rather than medication. Regardless of which you choose, you might find a good one or a bad one. To increase your odds, you might try to do some research and get some recommendations.

Thanks for this. The side effects of these drugs do not look worth it in my case. The therapist sounds like the better option for me. Appreciate the reply.

Medication better than therapy imo. I'm also scared of side effects...But the medication I am on has made my life 50-70 per cent better. It was really really shit the depression b4 medication and now it's better than it was. Am still scared to try new meds but it can help looking at the good reviews.

I agree in part because I think the ideal is both. Medication and therapy. Medication has helped me too.
