  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Hey everyone

The last month's I have been using about 4 grams of cocaine every week. I usually use it alone to escape the crippling depression. I used a lot Friday and fucked up my sleep schedule.

I realized this has to stop some day. Now. I can't keep spending this money and fuck my health.
Does anyone here have experience with quitting. Need tips...

Yea, it's too bad there will be high tolerances over all, but then there are different other substances that you can use while getting lower tolerance or for quitting perhaps.

I have no experience with that sorry, but I just wanted to say a good job on trying, and I think you have already taken the first step by admitting that it's not great so you are already on a good path, I really wish you the best of luck!

I wouldn't say I have actual experience with (forced) quitting of drugs although I used to take a lot of different drugs for many years in my 20s. I also recall a time (minimum of a year or more) when cocaine was omnipresent in my life.

I reduced consumption gradually due to changing life circumstances and availability over a long period.

Drugs are always a good coping mechanism but they never solve the actual problem - unfortunately. Maybe realizing this can help you in reducing your consumption.

What helps me to stop is the fact that I feel worse the last 1.5 days from my last night of heavy use. The usage has it's backlash this time (usually not so much). Over 10 years ago I quit amphetamines after using so much in combination with alcohol I was sick for 2 weeks. That was my reason to stop drugs all together. Over 10 years I didn't do any but now I started coke as to cope with my depression.... But I need to quit. For real.

Hello, I know many people who are addicted. First of all, they deleted their circle of friends to stay away from this substance. First, they changed their phone numbers, reset their phones, moved from where they were and started a very difficult job to focus their perceptions somewhere else. Especially cocaine addiction is the substance where you will see the most withdrawal symptoms. Therefore, no matter how bad you feel, these physical symptoms will disappear within 3-4 days. The real problem is not withdrawal. Since cocaine feeds the happiness hormone in the brain, you definitely need to go to therapy after removing cocaine from your life because no matter what you do, you will think that you will not be happy because you are playing with the chemistry of your brain. You can go to therapy and groups, but make sure that the groups are reliable. Because some group members can be dealers. I wish you success in this journey, if you want to talk, you can write me from DM, I know you will succeed.

Try LSD instead? It's cheaper. It has helped with my depression but doesn't always do it. But worth a try. It was used by the founder of AA who found it helpful for giving up alcohol.

2CB also cheaper than cocaine. It unfortunately doesn't work for me but might work for you.

You could also go to Cocaine Anonymous and find meetings on Friday/Saturday night - then you won't be alone in abstaining.

I'm guessing you have tried weed and it doesn't help…

I'm afraid of LSD. I tried ketamine and psylocibine treatment and they didnt work. I also tried weed (I can just buy that in the coffee shop) but it has little effect. Might try marijuana edibles... 2CB I will not try. I don't want to mess with drugs similar to XTC which I only tried twice ever. They had a hangover effect I don't experience with coke.

It's been only one day and I already crave the cocaine. It's just too good. It deletes depression and replaces it with Euphoria. I can't concentrate on anything without drugs.

There's a narcotics anonymous meeting in my area but it's cancelled for the coming two weeks. But after that I'll go. I wonder how long I can contain myself. Going for a joint right now.

Dr Anna Lembke is an addictions specialist for Stanford addictions centers. She wrote a book called dopamine nation. She has since appeared on many podcasts that are available on youtube if you just do a search there for her name. She also wrote The Dopamine Nation workbook that has exercises to complete and tables/charts for you to fill out about yourself and your addiction. I've recently read both those books.

My biggest takeaways are two things. While there are helpful things like her books and the information in podcasts...nothing will make or help it be easy, just possible. Two, when quitting any addiction your domanine will drop for roughly two weeks before it starts to level out again. So you will feel worse before feeling better, with that in mind it's helpful to see the feeling worse part as a good thing. She said that after the first two weeks the dopamine balance begins to bounce back and forth most people with most addictions the dopamine has leveled out after a month.

They also say relapses are common and don't beat yourself up for it as that is harmful to you. So if ya do relapse just accept it and realize you can quit again.

I wish you the best.

Hey,

I think it's great that you recognised that you want to kick the cocaine habit as it's actually making you feel worse in the long-term. Other users above have given really good tips such as: not being in an environment where drug use is encouraged, connecting more with friends who are non-drug users, attending therapy etc.

In my case, to quit my drug habit I picked up smoking cigarettes as another habit to replace it but I actually hated the taste of cigarettes. So once I felt I kicked my drug addiction it was relatively easy to cut out my smoking habit.

Not to say you should pick up smoking (which is also as bad haha) but you could do sports, play a video game, etc just something that gets your heart pumping to get the edge off.

I hope you manage to go to the narcotics anonymous meeting once it's on as having a support network will do you good. Really wish the best for you and you can do it. Take it one day at a time! Don't beat yourself up if you relapse, just remind yourself of why you started the journey to quitting and start again when you can.

Yeah I quit cocaine many years ago, and was really hard because I didn't have any money to get professional help. So I was by myself lol

My experience is kind of different from yours because my use was related to socializing - I'm very shy and insecure and cocaine made me feel much for confident of myself. So the first step was to stop going to the places I got drugs - same as seeing the people who were users.

The second step was to stopping drinking and clubbin for while, because my brain kind of related this things to the drug. After a while, I could drink again without feeling sleepy or bored without cocaine.

The hardest one was to deal with my feelings. Because drugs made me feel kind of strong, and I'm so fucking weak. I became very depressed and hold on to simple things : play video games , watch movies , etc tried to remember what I liked to do before all that .

It's a hard path , but worth it . Hope you are in a safe place

I wish you the best and will pray for you! ^_^ I'm glad you had the courage to stop doing drugs like cocaine! :D
Thankfully, I never tried drugs, but that unfortunately means that I really can't help you stop them~ :( regardless, I'm still glad to hear that you have decided to go off them and hopefully save some money and your health (while you're still here) with that! ^_^

My problem is nothing gives me happiness. I can barely follow video games or tv. The depression is too strong. I feel depressed anyhow. When I had a few alcoholic drinks i think fuck it. I'll do coke for the last time.

No therapy works for me. Only alcohol and cocaine make me feel truly better.

I understand you 🫂 I hope you are not being too hard on yourself.

The depression is strong but you have to believe that you are stronger. So many people on this thread are rooting for you and I hope you can see yourself as we do which is someone who can fight this.

The unfortunate thing with drugs is the comedown which is the tough part to go through and it's what make you want to relapse.

Reading your initial post, you mentioned that you usually use the drugs alone. Is there any chance for you to change your environment?

For example, I live in the big city and on the weekend I felt really low and I was drinking heavy so I left for the countryside where my mom lives. I'm still feeling kind of low but I don't have access to alcohol which was making me feel more crap.

You are not alone in this, sending positive energy your way. 🫂

ב''ה,
Ritalin functionally similar.
Bupropion is more distantly similar and time-released.
Whether substituting those is more ridiculous or not depends a lot on healthcare in your area, but in USA nobody gives a shit about bupropion and any GP can hand it out if you want to quit smoking cigarettes or just say you're depressed and would rather try that over SSRI side effects.

If you've been playing with freebase, smoke a damn cigarette both because the nicotine and mild MAOI effect in tobacco will lessen the crash and displace the drug-enhanced urge to smoke onto something more readily available. Or get a vape if you're tobacco averse.

If you're putting stuff up your nose I've been told inositol (sugar alcohol, commonly used in energy drinks, can just be had in a bag from health food/nutrition/nootropic suppliers) is the preference for theatrical productions. How anyone found out, who knows, but probably better than the aspirin or acetaminophen headache powders street people sometimes use, so if you're trying to titrate down or something, I guess that's allegedly at least OSHA approved to not wreck your nose worse.

I dealt with this. It was hard because it turned off my thoughts . Only thing is that I went back to alcohol. I'd just say don't trade addiction for another.

I sniffed 4 grams a week. I'm already years a smoker.

My friends did an intervention yesterday. They made me throw away the drugs and made me tell my parents, who are shocked. I never felt so low in my life.

I don't know how to get trough today, let alone the rest of the week or the period i have to survive until they take me in the psychiatric hospital. Which could take some more weeks.

Cocaine was coping. I looked forward to the moments I could use it and not feel depressed. I lost that now and can't cope anymore.

ב''ה,

Given the state of health care and the world today, honestly I've mentioned the two things that are going to have any similarity. Without opining hard enough that the world breaks because other "stimulants" appeal to so much of the tech set, if blow was your thing, Ritalin or bupropion may suffice and the other stimulants.. have a short honeymoon period before every awful side effect kicks in and the hell jokes start, so I'll be the voice that says it's okay to prefer reuptake inhibitors, professionals call this "ADHD brain" whether it is or not, and if you don't go beyond those, I hate to say it's practically just a song and dance of 'switching dealers' (to ones that did pass med school supposedly but meet them and you may wonder about that).

I would really recommend sticking with those if you're going in hospital and going to be offered the medication smorgasbord and have had this preference. SSRIs are 'just SSRIs' and I'm going to say not going to specifically be a bad trip. My theory is that when reuptake inhibitor preferring brains get handed the amphetamine-type drugs we get into real problems worse than our existing ones. So going in knowing your brain skews to a Ritalin or bupropion type of treatment will be a better ride than getting all tweaked out until you haven't slept in a week, are screaming malpractice and become amphetamine psychosis billing for them.

Not heavily experienced but, like cigarettes where the worst of it is really over in 2 days, if you're abstaining meanwhile, grit your teeth for 24 hours, the next 24 hours, then you're mostly out of the woods and can say you're past acute withdrawal symptoms and more towards experiencing whatever your baseline is by the end of a week, 2 to effectively know what "clean" feels like.

Hope this brings some perspective, it can either be 'an inconvenience' with some psych meds practically doing the same thing in the end, or it can be Mr. Toad's Wild Ride that never ends if you let them promote the amphetamine door and then get into the pharmacy shortages etc. that keep pushing people into Breaking Bad world. Look at it in terms of what you know you function with, since everyone is just out to get your labor whatever you're on, and they don't really care if that means a career doing career stuff or filling a bed because you're seeing robots after amphetamines didn't sit well because your brain does better with the reuptake inhibitor type of meds.

Not that it isn't worth raw-dogging reality to compare, but again as far as theories, people who have the brain chemistry for the possibly milder (don't let the slower onset of the other style fool you) reuptake inhibitor psychostimulants/antidepressants seem to get into/have more trouble with the other type than even 'average.' Not least because if you ever overdo it at least it's still over in a day instead of a week or more with 'the wrong stuff.' For this brain type or style, if you want to be charitable and avoid conflict in a world where it seems like most med students have preferred the other and been the types to not completely lose their minds with it.

Yes I am personally grumpy for having 'chosen the wrong door' at medical encouragement, so just hope this eases anyone else's ride. If you're tolerant of booger sugar the time release versions of Ritalin probably won't feel too bad, while for me that blows my heart up and I'm better off with the IR style, as for a hot minute was frowned on for being more 'drug-like' and closer to being off-patent.

It's a stupid game so if you can get by with nothing, consider not needing prescriptions, while if you can't this is probably what's going to be most comfortably equivalent without giving new problems.

Somehow I get endless cyber pranks for having done okay with bupropion. There's relatively slight differences, bupropion may substitute for cigarettes better, more seizure risk if you overdo it but so does coke proper have and if you tolerate that probably no thing, and Ritalin is slightly more go-go-go, but compared to other meds sending you to a universe you may not want I'll say these are the reasonable options and 50% of healthcare is not shy of prescribing them.
ב''ה,

Not in a position to edit anything, so "2 weeks to effectively know what 'clean' feels like," but hair tests exist so, just a fact of life there.

The other dumb fact of life is that if a social person or "less suburban" that lifestyle may run into the booger sugar in bars or from classmates first, while different background or any other health problems may have been fed the "ADD meds" first. While there was some acknowledgement these were basically the same things once kids started doing the dab dance and watching Breaking Bad, the business needs of both competing establishments sure keep the world stupid and bad to live in.

In a world where Breaking Bad exists and bath salts were OTC for a decade, possibly this stuff of both flavors should just be a carding next to the Sudafed. It's dumb. Also questionable how much in life is worth perseverating for in the ways these meds induce but sometimes it's nice to get out of bed except for the "labor market."

I've been half assing it so far. Bought 12 grams because of a special deal from my dealer (3rd gram free).

My friends did an intervention, made me throw away 3 grams of coke (what a waste tbh) and forced me to come clean to my parents. We also found that i wasted about 4k euro in 3 months. That was confronting. But not as confronting as admitting my problem to my parents, who are always there for me. Especially my mom was very upset.

My friends helped me to delete all contact info from my dealer. But then later the addict in me found an older phone number from the dealer that was apprarently still being operated. I had one gram in my nose and craved more. So I ordered 3 grams (for the price of 2!) and sniffed it all trough the night. Am afraid my friends will find out. For instance by checking my bank account. Then I'll just admit.

Point is I need to take this serious. I deleted all contact info from my dealer. It's time to take my responsibility towards my friends and family. I also need to face the truth; I'm probably addicted to this shit.

The truth is I dont really WANT to quit. The moments I use are the highlight of my week. Something to look foward to. The feeling of bliss in a life full of depression.
My friends forced me into this position. And I have now definately cut ties with my dealer.
Right now I crave a line. Maybe I am an addict.
