• If you haven't yet, we highly encourage you to check out our Recovery Resources thread!
  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

  • Security update: At around 2:28AM EST, the site was labeled as malicious by Google erroneously, causing users to get a "Dangerous site" warning in most browsers. It appears that this was done by mistake and has been reversed by Google. It may take a few hours for you to stop seeing those warnings.

If you're still getting these warnings, please let a member of staff know.

I attempted but didn't succeed and will be going back to school tomorrow cause I'm a senior. My school knows about it. How do I go back to normal?

It is hard to define normal or know exactly what you are looking for. But, assuming since you are in the recovery thread and you may like some advice, here are my thoughts!

Be honest about it with people you really trust. If there are teachers or school staff or anything that is familiar with resources that could help you then that is a good place to start. You can't really move forward if you don't address the problem.

If you are already getting professional help then just try to reach out to people. Get together with whatever friends you may have, go to clubs or events, start looking into what you may want to do in your future or what possibilities intrigue you.

Maybe none of this is helpful, I don't know your circumstances, feelings, or background. But I hope that life will be kinder to you and that you can recover from all of this.

I sure wish I could've stayed in school… oh well. To hell with it.

Just get your work done.

It won't make bullies or anyone else any nicer to you.

Still hard to focus and so on.

Most will probably not know or care. This can be rather helpful.

Some may make a joke of it. For these a quip like, "practice makes perfect" may suffice.

You may find some who express concern. These are those with whom you might find encouragement and support.

It can be rough to deal with social interaction in school during the best of times. Humans are just beginning to learn social skills during adolescence. To do this in the prison like environment of school can be extra difficult. However, the passage of time can do much to make things better.

With time one can learn to manage the jerks who can make life difficult. For example if someone were to say something to ridicule you in a group, you might respond, "I am curious, are you being be hurtful intentionally, accidentally, unwittingly, vindictively, or do you have an emotional deficiency that needs to feed off inflicting pain on others."

A person who uses a public forum to cause embarrassment for others, may not know that he exposes himself to the same arena to be called on to give an account for his actions.

You will probably find that most will ignore the situation and pretend that nothing happened. This is because most are unfamiliar with what to say or do. This can help you also as allowing time to pass can give room for the intensity of recent events to die down.

At some point you may wish to consider the dynamics of what led to the attempt. It might be a single triggering event or a longer term drift towards considering it. If it was a drift, it may reflect the need to examine brain chemistry. Some people are deficient in the manufacture of chemicals like Serotonin or GABA. Others might have a chemistry that reabsorbs these chemicals too quickly. There are many possibilities. There are all sorts of therapies with which to experiment.

If people are giving you a lot of attention now, you might be able to use the opportunity to experiment with what is available to see if anything might be found to be useful.
