• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

Dear Community,

I'm currently deciding between SN and voluntary assisted death in Switzerland. My SN protocol is fully procured and my voluntary assisted death in Switzerland is fully approved.

I'm looking for fresh perspective on this decision.

Switzerland offers certainty with the trade-off of being watched and surrounded by a staff of three strangers in my final moment. I would much prefer to go alone, but they continue to insist that I bring at least one close relative. I'd prefer to bring no family, but this may be unavoidable if this method is chosen.

SN offers privacy and portability but no certainty. Here I can die alone, where I want, when I want, and not stared at by strangers waiting for me to die. BUT, it isn't guaranteed to work.

Thoughts?

Choosing a method is something highly individual where a myriad of personal factors, some rather conscious ones as well as subconscious ones, finally play out. These oftentimes hidden factors are crucial when we choose a method-in other words:a lot depends on the way we are psychologically wired. Some people prefer taking certain risks whereas others insist on security at any price-since I do not know you at all I simply cannot judge which method or surrounding suits you best.My reply might not be the most helpful one,but at least it is honest without any false pretensions

Do you have a family member or friend who is willing to go with you and supports your decision?

I can only really say which I would go for. I would also ideally prefer to go alone but for me, the reasurance that the method will work and there are presumably things they can do if it doesn't would make assisted suicide more appealing to me. Plus, I imagine it would be the most peaceful option.

The cost would be annoying but then, it would also spare making a mess of my property and any stigma surrounding a suicide taking place there.

Would you have to travel far? That would be another consideration of course if you are suffering with ill health.

If it were ME , I'd choose the guaranteed method and go with the Swiss option. But I am me and you are you. So ultimately it's your choice

I agree with @davidtorez that we can only really offer our opinion of what WE would choose if we were in your situation. Ending our lives is a highly personal decision and I hope that our opinions wouldn't sway your choice in either direction.

There are definitely pros and cons to both methods. I imagine the assisted method would be certain and much more peaceful. But if your privacy means more to you, then it obviously wouldn't be the proper choice for you. Only you will be able to decide which route you want to go.

I'm glad that you have choices. Way your pros and cons and take your time to come to the right decision for YOU. It will be your final moments on earth, make sure it's a choice that you are fully at peace with.

Yes I do.

No offense, but this is obvious.
make sure it's a choice that you are fully at peace with.
Thanks, but there will be compromises no matter what. Full peace doesn't seem attainable.

If i were you i choose switzerland for the guaranteed death, sn is highly lethal but is doesn't even have a 90% death rate

Personally I would go with assisted death, its guaranteed whereas sn has its risks.
