  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

throughout my life, Ive dealt with plenty of narcissists, and just generally problematic people with a low self-esteem and a nasty habit of lashing out.

recently Ive been seeing a lot of these movies where relationships and family are usually portrayed as perfect, but everyone whos ever felt an ounce of love, anger or jealousy knows its never been that simple in reality. most people are out there, living life, while the rest of us are left to deal with feelings of abandonment or hate and spend most our time dealing with the chaos just trying to get used to it (pretty much all we can do, we cant control the way the people around us act or the way the world turns.)

but while your ego exists, you are the main character of your own story, and you can do your best to change the way you feel about things, so when it comes down to it, the people that start rumors about you or say things behind your back. Its only to make themselves look better, their self-esteem is so low, they have to make others look bad to make themselves look better. so really, those are the people you shouldn't be concerned about. honestly, I try to empathize and pity them. but after dealing with those people and situations like that too often, you get a bit paranoid, it seems like people are saying things even when they're not, but you have to try and realize, most people with a genuine feeling of self-importance aren't saying bad things about anyone, they're too busy enjoying life, because they care about themselves. they don't have a need to hurt anyone. so having self-importance isn't bad, its how we all should be.

Your ability to see those who have wronged you with understanding their limitations should protect you from the anger and bitterness that such encounters can create.

Self-importance can have negative effects. It can seem useful to have a sort of "shield" to protect one from what Shakespeare called the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. However, if that comfort comes from a distortion of reality, we risk doing or saying things that can harm ourselves and others.Seeing oneself in only negative terms also is a distortion of reality.

Truth indeed sets one free. It may not always feel good, but truth contributes to discernment that helps avoid those likely to cause you harm. It can also help recognize those with whom you may find happiness.

Sometimes it's hard to keep in mind what you say about insults and people being mean. This was helpful to read today.
